Prince William reportedly has a clever plan in place for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s futures within the Royal Family. Although they stepped down as senior working royals in 2020, Meghan and Harry have both managed to maintain their royal titles as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Following the recent loss of Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s titles, including the disgraced royal’s princely title, speculation has grown over the future of Meghan and Harry’s titles. According to royal experts, Harry and Meghan are in a “vulnerable” position when it comes to their royal titles.
Royal author Tom Bower has previously speculated that Harry and Meghan are on “borrowed time”, with royal expert Tom Sykes echoing his thoughts.

Mr Skyes told the Daily Beast, William will be quick to issue “letters patent” to remove princely titles from non-working royals – such as the Sussexes.
According to one expert, stripping Meghan and Harry of their titles may not be at the top of William’s agenda, as he has more pressing matters to attend to.
Commentator Afua Hagan explains that William is not that “petty”. She also added: “I don’t think he’s got time to do that, and, also, he doesn’t want that to be the focus of his reign when it comes. ‘Oh, the first thing I’m going to do is take away my brother’s titles,’ for what?
“What would be the point? It’s really silly to be focusing on [whether] that’s the thing he might do when he comes to reign.”

The expert adds that in her opinion: “There are so many other things that the Royal Family need to do to modernise, taking away people’s titles for living their own lives, it will seem silly and petty, so I just don’t think that he will.”
Harry and Meghan currently reside in California with their two children, Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four.
They have lived there since 2020, with their daughter born in California in 2021.
