A young man has been shot dead in a violent home invasion in Sydney’s south-west early this morning.
At about 3.40am, emergency services were called to a property at Glen Alpine, south of Sydney.

Police, who had received reports of a home invasion, found a man suffering a gunshot wound inside the house.
The man, believed to be aged in his 20s, died at the scene.
He is yet to be formally identified.
Police were told the offenders had left the scene a short time before police arrived.
An investigation is underway and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
