A 71-Year-Old Man Was Seriously Injured After a Vi0.lent Brawl at a Local Rugby Match in Sydney
Six people have been charged after a violent brawl at a local footy game in Sydney’s south-west that landed a 71-year-old in intensive care.
The violent melee broke out at an under-18s game as the Oaks Tigers hosted the Campbelltown Collegians at Dudley Chesen Sports Ground on July 19.

On Tuesday, police issued court notices to six men – aged 71, 46, 44, 40, 21 and 18 – who were all charged with affray following the scuffle.
The 71-year-old was also charged with behaving offensively in a public place.
The men aged 46 and 71 are both set to front Picton Court on September 17, with the four other men to face court on September 10.
Three 17-year-old boys were also dealt with under the Young Offenders Act.

Footage from the incident shows several spectators trading punches as Campbelltown players hop the boundary fence, before the skirmish spills onto the field with Tigers players also throwing punches.
The 71-year-old man was hospitalised with broken ribs and required facial surgery following the incident.
A 21-year-old woman who ran in to help was also reportedly punched in the head.
“In what world can adults… abuse, swear at, and physically assault children?” a witness told 9News.
NSW Rugby League has confirmed both teams have been suspended until the investigation is complete, meaning they likely won’t take to the field for the rest of the season.
