The Hip-hop community just celebrated the most anticipated return of Max B after over 15 years in prison. However, instead of being purely happy news, the event immediately became the fuse for a new social media war, as mogul 50 Cent quickly seized the opportunity to attack his long-time rival, Jim Jones.

Early Monday morning, 50 Cent took to Instagram with satirical posts, using the release of Max B (who has a public feud with Jim Jones) to label the Dipset rapper with the nickname “Snitch.”

🎬 Movie Memes and “6ix9ine-isms”

To mock Jim Jones, 50 Cent posted a picture from the movie Belly, showing the character Rico (Tyrin Turner) eating a banana and implying his intention to snitch, accompanied by the caption “Jim Jones.” This action aimed to link Jones with the unsubstantiated rumors and accusations of “snitching” that 50 Cent has used in previous confrontations.

50 Cent also shared a short clip of Max B calling DJ Whoo Kid (a long-time 50 Cent collaborator) with the provocative caption:

“[Nas] said Max home it’s packed in Harbor, jimmy about to drop a dime on these [nas] LOL”

Max B, during the call, sent greetings to “Boo Boo” (50 Cent’s nickname for himself), showing their close relationship, a detail that further amplified the sting of mocking Jones.

🕊️ Max B Wants to “Close the Chapter” on the Beef

The irony is that while 50 Cent is trying to reignite the feud between Max B and Jim Jones, the “Wave God” has expressed the opposite intention. Months before his release, Max B called into the Drink Champs show and shared his desire to end the decade-long beef with Jim Jones.

“Look, Jim said a lot of harsh things about me. But we all say harsh things about each other, right?” Max B said. “Jim once wished me dead, all kinds of stuff. It’s all good. Listen man, it’s love. I want to start over. I’m a new man. I have a family now. […] I’m in a totally different space, I want to get out, make money, and live the rest of my life.”

⚖️ The Personal Feud

50 Cent’s use of Max B’s momentous event to continue his personal war with Jim Jones illustrates how persistent conflicts in Hip-hop can transcend music and be exploited for personal gain. While Max B is aiming for a new beginning, 50 Cent has no intention of “closing the chapter” on this rivalry.

Currently, Jim Jones has not officially responded to the new attacks from 50 Cent, but the Hip-hop community is watching to see whether Max B’s return will be powerful enough to mend one of the East Coast’s most famous feuds, or if 50 Cent will exploit it to deepen the division.
