Prince Harry Shares Rare Update on Archie and Lilibet After Their Emotional Return to Britain
Prince Harry offered a rare glimpse into life with his children this week, making a brief but heartfelt comment about Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet just days after the family quietly returned from Britain.
The Duke of Sussex was attending the TIME100 Sports Gala in New York City when fellow guests asked how his children were doing following their recent overseas trip.
According to witnesses, Harry smiled before replying with three simple words:
“Growing like weeds.”
The lighthearted remark quickly became one of the evening’s most talked-about moments, offering a rare public update on Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five.
A Family Reunion Months in the Making

Harry’s comments came after an emotional week in Britain.
While the Duke travelled ahead for Invictus Games events and charity engagements, Meghan Markle later joined him with Archie and Lilibet.
During the visit, the Sussex family reportedly spent time with King Charles and Queen Camilla at Highgrove House.
The private gathering attracted worldwide attention because it was believed to be the King’s first in-person meeting with his youngest grandchildren since 2022.
Neither Buckingham Palace nor representatives for the Sussexes have publicly discussed the details of the reunion.
Harry Also Reassured Guests About the King
The conversation at the gala reportedly turned from Harry’s children to his father.
According to Page Six, Harry was overheard telling guests that King Charles was “doing great” following their recent meeting.
The brief update came as the King continues carrying out public duties while undergoing treatment after revealing his cancer diagnosis in 2024.
Although Harry has rarely spoken publicly about his father’s health, those present described him as relaxed and happy while discussing his family.
Archie and Lilibet Are Being Raised Away From Royal Life
Friends close to Harry and Meghan have previously said the couple are committed to giving their children as normal a childhood as possible.
A source recently told HELLO! magazine that Archie and Lilibet do not fully understand the Royal Family’s public roles and simply see King Charles as their grandfather.
The insider added that Harry and Meghan work hard to shield their children from royal attention, allowing them to enjoy an ordinary upbringing in California.
A Small Comment That Spoke Volumes
Harry attended the TIME100 Sports Gala primarily to celebrate the continuing success of the Invictus Games, for which he was recognized as one of the TIME100 Most Influential People in Sports 2026.
Yet it was not the award that captured the most attention.
Instead, his simple three-word description of Archie and Lilibet—and his reassuring update on King Charles—provided a rare, personal glimpse into a family that has largely remained out of the public eye since leaving royal duties.
