Prince William’s ‘circus-like’ experience ‘will never happen to his children’ for 1 reason

Prince William once experienced a “circus-like” moment which his three children will likely never have to experience due to one major reason. William has spent his whole life in front of the spotlight, with the royal appearing to want to build a very different life for Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

According to ITV’s Chris Ship, William was filmed “driving to the doors of Highgrove [House]” just hours before he was due to take his driving test – a moment that a fellow expert described as a “circus”.

Speaking on the latest episode of Talking Royals, royal author Simon Vigar said: “It’s a circus that George, Charlotte and Louis are not part of because, as I say in the book, William and Catherine have been very clear about building a big wall between what’s private and what’s public.

“That’s a change. That’s history not repeating itself.”

He added that Catherine and William are seemingly keen to give their children a “Middleton childhood” – which is why they likely won’t have the same experiences as their father.

Mr Vigar added: “Okay, we get to see them at Tropping, we get to see them on the big occasions and we get photos on birthdays but, as someone said to me, those kids are having a Middleton childhood. [George, Charlotte and Louis are] not having a William and Harry childhood.”

William has previously expressed that there is another way that he is protecting his children at the present moment – not allowing them access to a mobile phone and social media.

Speaking during an inteview with Brazilian television host Luciano Huck from the Domingão show last year, William revealed that George, 13, Charlotte, 11, and Louis, 8, do not have mobile phones yet.

Discussing that he is cautious about technology, he said: “It is really hard. Our children don’t have phones.”

Revealing that he will allow George to have a mobile phone, he shared that it will likely be allowed when he reaches secondary school – but only with “limited access”.
