The Princess of Wales may have revealed her go-to outfit for a winter walk

Kate Middleton released a powerful new video on her 44th birthday, and it featured a connection to her youngest child, Prince Louis.

The Princess of Wales turned 44 on Friday, Jan. 9, and shared a personal new video on social media, titled “Winter,” concluding the seasonal “Mother Nature” video series she began in 2025.

“The Mother Nature series has been a deeply personal, creative reflection on how nature has helped me heal. But it is also a story about the power of nature and creativity in collective healing,” she captioned the clip.

 

“There is so much we can learn from Mother Nature, as we look to build a happier, healthier world,” she continued, signing as “C” as shorthand for her first name, Catherine.

PEOPLE understands that the new film released on Jan. 9 captured the Princess of Wales on an early morning walk in Berkshire. The county is home to Windsor, where she lives with Prince William and their children, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis.

The new video appears to confirm the Princess of Wales’ go-to style for a winter walk — and has a link to her son.

Last year, Kate bundled up in a baker boy hat, long coat and boots that looked much like the combination she wore in the new “Mother Nature” video. That photo, released to commemorate World Cancer Day in early February, was credited to Prince Louis, 7.

The photo showed Princess Kate standing on a log in the woods with her arms outstretched. PEOPLE understands that the photo of the Princess of Wales was taken by Prince Louis in Windsor, and the post included a second shot taken by the princess, who has a keen photography hobby. That picture was a close-up of black branches, also taken in Windsor.

Princess Kate has cited nature as a source of solace during her recent health journey. The Princess of Wales announced in March 2024 that she was undergoing cancer treatment and said in September 2024 that she completed chemotherapy.

In January 2025, she announced with “relief” that she was in remission.
