A man and a woman have been found dead at a property near Moe, in regional Victoria.

Emergency services were called to a house on McGraths Track in Hernes Oak at 12:15pm on Monday.

Inside, they found the bodies of a 47-year-old woman and a 46-year-old man.

Police believe the man and woman knew each other and investigators are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident.

Hernes Oak is a small rural community located in the Latrobe Valley, almost two hours east of Melbourne.

The investigation is ongoing and police are asking for any witnesses to come forward.
