The King spent two days on the islands following his four-day US visit
One royal fan was left in stitches after speaking to King Charles III during the Bermuda leg of his transatlantic trip last week.
The King made history when he touched down on the islands for an official visit, becoming the first reigning monarch to set foot there in four centuries.
“I am told to my amazement it is also the first time in Bermuda’s 400-year history that the islands have received a reigning King,” he remarked to guests during a garden party at Government House on Friday.
“I am terribly sorry it has taken so long!”
Due to the rarity of the occasion, royal fever swept through the streets as the King arrived in the British Overseas Territory, with crowds gathering to catch a glimpse of His Majesty.
The historic trip came directly after he completed his state visit to the United States, making it a substantial royal tour – particularly when taking into account the strenuous activities he undertook in both regions.
During his time in Bermuda, the monarch stopped by the Museum of Bermuda, where he took time to greet members of the public who had lined up behind barriers outside.
One particular moment from the walkabout has since captured hearts across the internet, with footage of a royal fan’s wholesome reaction going viral on social media.

Social media users couldn’t get enough of the sweet interaction, with one commenting: “His inner six-year-old came out to play. I’m only surprised he didn’t jump up and down.”
Another fan wrote: “Pretty sure I would have the same childish look on my face, had I just exchanged views with King Charles. I’m a great fan!”
The two-day Bermuda tour saw swathes of locals taking to the streets to show their support for the monarch, who himself booked in a busy schedule.
On Friday, His Majesty met with Bermuda’s Premier David Burt and explored a museum exhibition examining Bermuda’s historical ties to the Transatlantic Slave Trade, before the garden party.
On his final day on the island, the King officially launched the UK Space Agency’s Project Nova, an ambitious initiative designed to monitor debris orbiting Earth, and attended a Coast Guard Station Opening.

The King departed Bermuda on Saturday afternoon

Queen Camilla was notably absent from the Bermuda trip, having parted ways with her husband after their joint US state visit concluded on Thursday.
Planning documents confirm this was always the arrangement, though Buckingham Palace hasn’t explained why the King travelled solo.
It’s possible the Queen’s previously admitted dislike of flying played a part in the decision.
