Rapper Master P has teamed up with New Orleans nonprofit, Make Good Nola, to turn wheelchairs for kids into something a little more fun and age appropriate. Master P shared a video on his Instagram of him and his crew helping design and deliver Toddler Mobility Trainers, colorful, custom wheelchairs for kids with disabilities.

Master P said, “This actually made me say, ‘uhhh!’” He continued, “I’m telling y’all! That’s what this did. I’m ready to give this to a kid.”

Master P celebrated the meaningful partnership and said it was a “blessing to be a blessing” and thanked local groups like Team Hope NOLA for helping him “take care of our community.” The heartfelt clips capture kids testing out their new chairs as well as Master P working gleefully alongside volunteers to complete the chairs.

“Tight whip right here!” Master P said, rotating the kid’s chair with his hands. “And some kids are going to be real happy because this was made with love.”

Make Good Nola — the 501(c)(3) that focuses on custom assistive technology and open-source design — also posted footage of this epic collaboration and highlighted the push to make mobility devices that reflect the kids who use them. The project is a part of a growing movement to rethink adaptive equipment, as not only functional, but joyful and identity-affirming.

“This is the start of a series of celebrities and VIPs putting together these chairs for our community and to bring awareness to this project,” Make Good Nola said in a statement.
