In a move that has sent Partycrashers worldwide into a frenzy, Netflix has greenlit a full-scale 2026 revival of its beloved comedy-drama The Ranch. The streaming giant quietly confirmed the project on November 20, 2025, ending years of fan campaigns, petitions, and desperate rewatches of the original’s 80 episodes. What began as a 2016–2020 love letter to Colorado ranch life — beer, beef, and Bennett brothers — is saddling up again, promising the same mix of gut-busting pranks, bar-room brawls, and tear-jerking family reconciliation that made the original a sleeper hit.

Sources close to production reveal the revival, tentatively titled The Ranch: Next Generation, will pick up eight years after the finale. Colt (Ashton Kutcher) and Abby are now raising a rebellious teenage Peyton, while Rooster’s absence still hangs heavy over the Iron River. Beau (Sam Elliott) is older, grumpier, and facing a health scare that forces the brothers to confront selling the ranch — until a shocking DNA twist upends everything.

The big question: who’s returning? Ashton Kutcher and Sam Elliott are locked in as series regulars, with Kutcher also executive producing. Elisha Cuthbert is back as Abby, and Debra Winger reprises her role as Maggie with an expanded arc running the now-legal Garrison weed dispensary. The gaping hole, of course, is Danny Masterson. Rooster will be written out permanently — killed off-screen in a tragic accident — a decision Netflix insiders say was “non-negotiable” following Masterson’s 2023 conviction and 30-years-to-life sentence.
Stepping into the chaos are fresh faces: Yellowstone’s Cole Hauser as a ruthless corporate buyer circling the ranch, Outer Banks star Madelyn Cline as Colt’s wild-child niece, and comedy veteran Will Ferrell in a recurring role as Beau’s long-lost brother — a Vegas hustler with secrets that could destroy the family.
Filming begins spring 2026 in Colorado, with original creators Don Reo and Jim Patterson returning to showrun. “We never felt the story was finished,” Reo told Deadline. “The fans kept the fire alive. This is for them.”
Early plot leaks promise classic Ranch madness: Colt accidentally live-streaming a cattle auction gone wrong, Beau’s first (and disastrous) attempt at edibles, and a mid-season wedding that ends with the entire town in a fistfight. Yet the heart remains: brothers choosing family over pride, fathers learning to say sorry, and the unbreakable bond of the Bennett name.
Social media is exploding. #TheRanchIsBack trended worldwide within minutes of the announcement, with the original trailer remix already at 12 million views. “I’ve waited 2,000 days for this,” one fan posted alongside a photo of their Rooster shrine.
Netflix has ordered 10 episodes for 2026, with an option for two more seasons. Whether the revival can recapture the original’s lightning — or if the absence of Rooster will leave too big a hole — remains to be seen. One thing is certain: the Iron River is flowing again, and the Bennetts are riding back into our lives, boots, beer, and all.
Yee-haw, indeed.
