WARPED ‘PLOT’ Horror timeline after Lindsay Clancy-obsessed mom hanged son, 2, and left kids to find body as she ‘giggled’ in tub

DISTURBING details have emerged about the Lindsay Clancy-obsessed mom who allegedly killed her son and left the boy’s body hanging for her other children to find.

A neighbor found Corie Walsh, 40, in a bloody bathtub, giggling and her eyes dilated after she allegedly killed her 2-year-old son Barrett, whom she claimed was the “devil” and the “anti-Christ.”

The horrific incident occurred on September 1 at the family’s home in Frankfort, Illinois, after Walsh’s other two children returned from school to find their 2-year-old brother hanging from a rafter in the basement, according to prosecutors.

Will County prosecutors said the terrified children ran to a neighbor’s house seeking help.

The neighbor quickly arrived, pulled Barrett down and attempted CPR; however, the boy was reportedly cold and had no pulse.

Prosecutors said the neighbor then located Walsh in an upstairs bathroom, fully clothed inside a tub filled with bloody water.

Walsh was allegedly found giggling and her eyes dilated, the neighbor told authorities.

Walsh attempted to harm herself after allegedly killing her son, prosecutors said in court on Tuesday.

Prosecutors revealed that Walsh made statements to investigators indicating that she believed she had also killed her other three children, including an 8-month-old infant who was home at the time.

Walsh also planned to poison her husband with a drink, prosecutors told the judge.

Frankfort police noticed a number of prescription bottles at the family’s home.

Friends of Walsh told investigators the mother had recently become “very interested” in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial in Plymouth, Massachusetts.

Clancy was on trial for fatally strangling her three children in the basement of her Duxbury home before jumping out of a second-story window in a suicide attempt.

Clancy’s attorney said she was suffering from a rare condition called postpartum psychosis and insisted she was not in the right mental state when she killed her children.

The five-week trial ended in a mistrial on Friday.

Walsh’s defense attorney, Andrea Lyon, slammed the media coverage surrounding her client’s case and the connections to Clancy’s trial.

“Speculation that this has anything to do, that it’s a copycat or anything like that is baseless and cruel,” Lyon told reporters outside the Will County Courthouse.

Walsh’s defense team argued in court that the mother was suffering from a psychotic breakdown when she allegedly killed her son and, therefore, should be placed in a psychiatric facility.

“She was severely mental ill at the time of incident and requires treatment,” Walsh’s other attorney, Robert Kerr, told the judge.

“Describing Corie to a copied Lindsay is to take an easy bait,” he added.

Kerr said Walsh was diagnosed with grief psychotic disorder – a severe or sudden bereavement that can sometimes trigger psychotic symptoms, psychotic depression, according to the National Health Service.

However, a judge ordered her detained, saying she posed a risk to her remaining children and husband.

Walsh is due in court on September 24.

Neither Walsh’s husband nor her mother attended Tuesday’s court hearing.

Instead, the loved ones held a funeral for their son Barrett, whom they affectionately called “Bear.”

Prosecutors said Walsh’s husband was cooperating with police and social service workers.
