Moore was last spotted on June 11 around 6:40pm, signing into a Planet Fitness she frequently worked out at in Lexington, South Carolina.

The personal trainer was later captured on a surveillance camera at 9:17pm walking away from the gym and through the parking lot of a nearby Publix.

She then appeared to walk toward a wooded area behind a Lowe’s store.

Moore was seen wearing an olive-green zip-up hoodie and black athletic pants, which matched the description of the unidentified body authorities found when searching for her on Wednesday, the Lexington Police Department said.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division confirmed it is now helping the police department with Moore’s case.

“SLED was asked to investigate by both agencies after a body was found during a search for Elena Katherine Moore, 39, Wednesday in a wooded area off Old Cherokee Road,” the agency said in a statement.

The Lexington County coroner is now working to positively identify the body, SLED added.

Lexington Police Chief Terrence Green said officials received a tip that Moore was seen in the area of North Lake Drive and Old Cherokee Road, near the Publix parking lot.

A search was launched in the wooded area around 1:30pm on Wednesday and a body was found about an hour and 45 minutes later.

The coroner’s office told Fox News that an autopsy would be scheduled in the coming days.

“No positive identification has been made as of this time. We will await positive identification before any further information is released. No cause of death has been determined,” the coroner’s office said.

Local authorities told Newsweek on Tuesday, before the body was found, that they did not suspect foul play in her case.

Officials also said her husband, Brannon Slice, who reported her mission on Friday was “not a person of interest at the current moment.”

Lexington Police told Fox that SLED will investigate whether foul play was involved in Moore’s death.

Moore appeared to have been acting confused in the days leading up to her disappearance.

Moore was allegedly pretending to be a DoorDash delivery driver at an apartment complex a week before she disappeared, according to a resident who shared Ring camera footage with The U.S. Sun. f

The resident, Sarah Burleson, said Moore was acting bizarrely outside of her unit.

She alleged that Moore met with a DoorDash delivery woman who was dropping off a food order.

In the video, Moore could be seen taking the plastic to-go bag and a receipt from the worker, who then took a photo of her for proof of delivery.

Moore then knocked on the door and delivered the food herself to Burleson’s partner.

Burleson told The U.S. Sun that Moore tried to enter her apartment and appeared “confused.”

“Something seemed very off and I really hope she turns up safe and sound,” she said.

“For the past week we thought it was a crazy DoorDash experience.”

Burleson explained the contacted the police once she learned Moore was missing after she recognized the woman’s bracelet, nails and sunglasses from a recent Facebook post Moore made.

Burleson told NewsNation that she saw Moore rummaging through a neighbor’s packages about an hour later.

When confronted, Moore told her she didn’t know what she was doing.

Moore had not been active on her social media since April, which one of her friends said was unlike her.

“She is very active on social media so her going radio [silence] for the last month is out of character,” Lauren Beasley told Fox News.

“She did not say anything personal about anything she was going through,” she said of their last conversation that took place a month ago.

“She got married last year, but she didn’t say anything about her relationship or work or anything personal.”
