Prince Harry skewered over deluded ‘working royal’ claim – ‘He’s a traitor’

Royal watchers have been reminding Prince Harry of his previous attacks on the Royal Family.

Prince Harry has been skewered over his suggestion he is a working royal. The Duke of Sussex sparked criticism on social media after he told ITV News he does not recognise the description of himself as “not a working royal”.

Harry, speaking during a surprise visit to Ukraine, said: “I will always be part of the royal family and I’m here working and doing the very thing that I was born to do, and I enjoy doing it. I enjoy being able to do these trips and come and support the people that I’ve met before, the friends that I’ve made, and hopefully bringing attention to issues that for one reason or another drop out of the news because something else has popped up.”

His comment sparked an angry backlash among some royal watchers on social media.

One X-user, tweeting from an account named PrincessCarParkle, mimicked Harry, commenting: “‘I’m Royal and I work so I’m a working Royal’. No, precious flower, you’re not.

“You do not represent the Monarch, you do not represent the Commonwealth, you do not perform official duties.”

The X-user asked their 26,700 followers: “Does he not remember writing a whole book about ‘fleeing’ and quitting his role?

“Hasn’t he complained bitterly about Royal life and the expectations he was ‘born into’?”

Prince Harry’s autobiography, Spare, includes a series of sensational allegations about the Royal Family, including that the Prince of Wales knocked him to the floor in a row over Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex

Besides family rows, Harry also suggests royal life was sometimes isolating, media scrutiny posed a challenge and the life was not as glamorous as it might appear.

The X-user went on to accuse Harry of “stomping his foot and crossing his arms” in a “determined” effort to “p*** off” his brother, Prince William, adding: “What a desperate clown.”

Nevertheless, Harry insisted during his visit to Ukraine that he would always be part of the Royal Family, after he and Meghan stepped back from official royal duties in 2020.

PrincessCarParkle’s tweet led other royal watchers to pile in, with one – Florida-based “Pamela MAGA” – suggesting the Duke works for a “globalist elite”, adding: “He’s a traitor to the people of the UK.”

Others online said Harry and Meghan should be welcomed back into the Royal Family.

An X-user tweeting from an account named Most Beautiful Woman described the Sussexes as an “asset” and they should be brought back “into the fold”.

The criticism online came after questions were raised about the Sussexes’ four-day trip to Australia, which some commentators likened to an official royal tour, with visits to a hospital and a national war memorial.

Under the 2020 deal struck between Buckingham Palace and the Sussexes, Harry and Meghan are “no longer working members of the Royal Family”.

The Sussexes were also accused of monetising their trip Down Under, with access to some private events incurring charges and the Duchess entering into a deal with an AI-fashion firm to promote what she was wearing
