Lady Louise Windsor may be a member of the Royal Family, but very little is known about her. While she is one of King Charles’s nieces, Louise does not use a royal title, which means that when she is not at a royal event, she lives a relatively ordinary life, which includes being a student at St Andrew’s University.

Although her parents, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, occasionally discuss their children, revelations are rare. However, one little-known royal relative has now shed more light on what Lady Louise, 22, is really like.

As well as being distantly related,  Lord Ivar Mountbatten – who is the great-nephew of Lord Louis Mountbatten, Prince Philip’s maternal uncle – is also a godfather to Louise.

This means that he knows the royal well and is particularly good friends with her parents, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh.

However, while he sees Edward and Sophie often, Lord Ivar revealed that his relationship with Louise seems to be mainly on text as a result of her “busy” schedule.

The 62-year-old told Hello!: “Edward and Sophie are clearly good friends, and quite often when Sophie comes down to Devon, she will stay here with us.

“She always used to stay at Bridwell, but she’s also stayed in the farmhouse. Then, in the winter, we go up and stay with them for weekends. Lady Louise and I text a lot, but that’s about it. Young people are always very busy!”

Louise is set to be busier than ever over the coming months as she prepares for her final university assessments.

It is not clear what Louise plans to do when she graduates, however, it is believed she could go into some form of military training.

This is not something her parents or the Royal Family have yet confirmed.
