Love Island fans are bracing for drama as a fan-favourite challenge makes its long-awaited return after seven years

CHAOS IS COMING

Love Island fan favourite challenge returns TONIGHT after seven year break – causing chaos with villa couples

AN ICONIC Love Island challenge is returning to the show tonight after a whopping seven year break.

The game has previously divided couples and friendships in the villa and is set to see the islanders descend into chaos.

The challenge was previously known as the Twitter challenge and sees islanders find out what the public really think of them by reading out fan tweets.

But returning this year, the challenge has been given a twist and is called Tea, Receipts and Truths.

It will be a mix of ‘Villa Reciepts’ – which exposes things islanders have said in the villa behind each other’s back and Public Tea – which is comments from fans on social media.

A show source revealed to The Sun: “The game throws the villa into complete chaos as what the public think of the islanders is exposed.

“Comments that islanders would rather have stayed secret will also come out in the open.”

Confirming it will cause chaos within couples, they added: “Two of the villa couples are left fuming and it caused HUGE drama.”

Over the past few series fans have been begging bosses to bring back the daily challenges, with recent series seeing noticeably less challenges.

ITV bosses did hint that the tweet challenge would return earlier this year when asked by The Sun.

Show boss Amanda revealed back in May: “It’s really interesting you bring that up. There is an idea that is in the making.”

The challenge, which has caused mega fallouts, previously saw the islanders each given two tweets that have been made by the public in correlation to their fellow islanders.

In order to score a point, they would need to correctly guess the people the tweet is talking about – and they’re rarely flattering.

Love Island veteran Olivia Attwood wrote of the challenge on X: “The LI kids these days will never know what we (I) went through. Character building lolol.”

The Twitter-themed challenge has been at the centre of many controversies including accusations that producers were making up tweets, mental health concerns and unnecessary rows sparked between couples.

One famous couple rocked by the game back in 2019 was Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague – who are still together now.

The scathing tweet read: “Nah, Tommy deserves more than Molly-Mae. She doesn’t like him. She likes £50k.”

At the time, viewers dubbed her “Money-Mae” on X.

Another famous moment from the challenge was when musician Stormzy sent a tweet in about the show which was used.

Slamming Olivia Attwood, who was with Chris Hughes at the time, the rapper wrote: “Chris, you’re too good for her mate”.

It rocked the relationship and made Chris question Olivia’s intentions, while also being starstruck at Stormzy giving his opinion.
