BuschĀ died in Concord, North Carolina, after pneumonia developed into sepsis, which then caused blood clots, hemorrhaging, major blood loss and fatal shock, according to the death certificate obtained byĀ Us Weekly.

The marriedĀ father of twoĀ had battled sepsis for only a day before his condition turned deadly.

A North Carolina medical examiner said the infection triggered clotting in his blood, which then blocked blood flow to his organs.

That led to hemorrhagic shock, a life-threatening condition caused by severe blood loss.

The findings give the clearest picture yet of Busch’s final hours after his family previously said he had been suffering from pneumonia that led to sepsis.

Busch wasĀ rushed to hospitalĀ on May 20 after he was found unresponsive inside a race simulator.

He had been at a training facility in Concord as he prepared for the Coca-Cola 600 weekend in Charlotte.

A 911 call placed around 5:30 pm captured the panic as a caller urgently asked for anĀ ambulance.

The caller told dispatchers Busch was suffering from ā€œshortness of breathā€ and was ā€œvery hot.ā€

ā€œ[He] thinks he’s going to pass out, and he’s producing a little bit of blood, coughing up some blood,ā€ the caller said.

The Nascar star was still awake when the call began.

ā€œHe is awake. He’s awake. He’s awake,ā€ the caller repeatedly told dispatchers.

Audio from the emergency call indicated Busch was lying on a bathroom workers waited for paramedics.

The caller also asked emergency crews to turn off their sirens as they got close to the building.

He said he would stand outside and flag them down at a side entrance.

Busch was taken to the hospital, where his condition rapidly worsened.

He died the next day, May 21.

His sudden death stunned Nascar fans and the wider racing world, coming just days before one of the sport’s biggest events.

Busch, known for his fierce driving style and huge presence on the track, left behind his wife and two children, son Brexton, 11, and daughter Lennix, 4.
