The Princess Royal was reportedly very unhappy with her sister-in-law Sarah Ferguson after the scandal.

Princess Anne reportedly “nearly throttled” Sarah Ferguson after her toe-sucking scandal, it has been claimed. Five months after Sarah separated from Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor in 1992, the former Duchess of York was photographed at her holiday villa in St Tropez with her “financial advisor”.

In the photographs, which sent shockwaves around the world, Sarah could be seen having her toes ‘sucked’ by John Bryan. This was while her young daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie were also with the pair on holiday.

The photographs were taken with long lenses, and quickly became a scandal, making the front pages while the Royal Family were at Balmoral Castle, with Sarah Ferguson also present.

While Queen Elizabeth II, Andrew’s mother, seemed to stay calm about the matter, it has been reported that his father Prince Philip was not happy about what his wife had done.

It has also been claimed that Andrew’s sister Princess Anne was reportedly furious.

This was a claim put forward by author Andrew Lownie, who wrote in his book “Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York” that the Princess Royal was angry when she saw the photographs, especially as Sarah seemed to act as though she had done nothing wrong.

Lownie wrote: “She (Sarah) entered the breakfast room to find everyone reading the story and fled.”

The author continued: “One person, who was present, told the duchess’s biographer Chris Hutchins that the Princess Royal ‘came close to throttling’ Sarah, and at dinner told her what she thought of her: ‘There was not one voice raised against Anne.

“Prince Andrew’s anger melted into sadness and he buried himself in the special reports compiled for the Queen, which she did not hesitate to let him read.’”

John Bryan spoke out about the scandal a few years ago and claimed he was kissing Sarah’s toes as part of a family game, rather than as a sexualised gesture.

It is believed John and Sarah are still friends. It is not known how Princess Anne feels about recent scandals surrounding Sarah as a result of the Epstein files. Appearing in the Epstein files does not indicate any wrongdoing.
