Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were blasted on TalkTV by host Kevin O’Sullivan and his guest, Los Angeles-based royal commentator Kinsey Schofield. It comes after Harry reportedly won the right to automatic armed police protection when he and his family visit the UK. O’Sullivan told viewers that the Duke has requested armed protection by British police officers when he returns to the UK, adding: “By extension, he wants it for Meghan and the kids, who haven’t been here almost ever.”

Schofield claimed: “This is Keir Starmer’s government giving Harry what he wants.” To which O’Sullivan replied: “Well, that’s if it’s true and if he gets it.” She later said: “If this turns out to go Prince Harry’s way, I would be very hostile. Harry continues to act destructively and recklessly – you don’t write a book and include all of your Taliban kills in a gloating fashion.

“You don’t go on television and throw stones at a particular political party when in the same year we’ve watched a political assassination all over the internet.”

The royal correspondent later stated the UK taxpayer should not have to foot the bill for Harry and his family’s security “whenever Meghan wants to come to the UK for a Christmas shop”. O’Sullivan replied: “I don’t think he’s going to get it.”

Last May, Harry lost his court battle against the Royal and VIP Executive Committee over its decision to remove his right to taxpayer-funded security after he moved to America.

However, the father-of-two wrote to the UK’s Home Secretary, Shabana Mahmood, in September after a female stalker allegedly approached him during a visit to the UK.

A source close to the Sussexes told Mail on Sunday: “It’s now a formality. Sources at the Home Office have indicated that security is now nailed on for Harry.”
