The Duchess of Sussex gave her backing to the writer via social media

The author of Meghan Markle’s “bedside book” has shared exclusively with GB News the impact of the Duchess of Sussex’s support for her work.

The novel by Jessica Urlichs, “They Bloom Because of You: On the Infinite Love, Growth and Magic of Motherhood”, is currently the fifth bestselling book in the motherhood section of Amazon.

Ms Urlichs told the People’s Channel that she “will be forever grateful” for the Duchess of Sussex’s kind endorsement.

Explaining the impact of it, she said: “It definitely climbed the charts around the world after her share.

“My hopes are that the book can now reach more mothers who feel held and supported by those poems.”

The author shared her reaction to finding out Meghan was reading her book after the duchess posted footage of her scrolling through pages with numerous folded-over bookmarks.

Ms Urlichs told GB News: “[I am] incredibly pleased. She is a real champion of women, and it felt like a very genuine share by her.”

The author posted a video of her showing the duchess reading her book on her personal social media, which has received over 50,000 likes.

Meghan left a comment under the post, saying: “My mom friend, Christina, shared it with me. My current bedside book. From one mama to another – thank you.”

Following the duchess’s sharing of the book, Ms Urlichs said: “I actually have all my notifications turned off, but I noticed my DMs (direct messages) were flying in when I went into Instagram.

“I was in the dining room while my husband was on a Zoom meeting, so I had to really contain my excitement.”

Ms Urlichs’ book is described as “a new collection of beautifully observed poems about the ever-evolving journey of motherhood – the hard, the magic, and the fleeting”.

It continues: “A mother is born the moment her children are, growing and blossoming alongside them.

On her personal social media, the duchess recently shared footage showing Prince Archie walking into her photoshoot, while Princess Lilibet also sought her mother’s attention.

Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four, both made appearances in the footage, which was filmed for Meghan’s lifestyle brand As Ever.

“Mama’s little helpers,” the duchess captioned the post, adding: “BTS of our shoot for @aseverofficial at our home.”

The clip captured Meghan arranging flowers outdoors at the California property she shares with Prince Harry and their children.

Two additional photographs accompanied the video, with one showing the young princess concealed beneath the table as Meghan continued her work.
