Drama fans are being urged to watch this “addictive” series that stars icons from Happy Valley and Unforgotten.
Originally airing its first season on BBC One back in 2012, the series follows widowed pensioners Alan (played by Derek Jacobi) and Celia (Anne Reid) who reconnect on Facebook after almost 60 years apart.
As the former childhood sweethearts are reunited, their marriage brings their drastically different families together.
While Alan’s daughter Gillian (played by Nicola Walker) runs a farm and has grief and financial stress to deal with, Celia’s daughter Caroline (Sally Lancashire) is a high-strung teacher dealing with her own complex personal life.
Following its initial release, there have been five seasons in total with the romantic comedy-drama winning numerous BAFTAs for Best Drama, Best Writer and Best Supporting Actresses.
The show in question is Last Tango in Halifax and it is available to stream for free on BBC iPlayer now.

Last Tango in Halifax is written by none other than Sally Wainwright who also created BBC’s iconic drama Happy Valley.
Fans have taken to IMdB to share their thoughts on the drama, with many calling it the “best drama I’ve ever seen”.
A fellow user said: “This is one of my favorite TV shows. Period. Jacobi and Reid are just phenomenal.”
Another described it as “real and addictive” while someone else said it was “excellent, clever and cute”.
“Sally Wainwright does it again!”, a viewer exclaimed.
“What a brilliant writer she is. Just look at the stuff she has written… all of it is so clever, so entertaining, so observant.”
