Cam’ron and 50 Cent may have once been foes, but they continue to find a mutual enemy in Jim Jones.
On Wednesday (January 7), Killa Cam seemingly took aim at his former Dipset compatriot by mocking his alleged financial struggles.
“How u worried about me when ya heat off and rent due,” he wrote on Instagram, adding in the caption: “Herd it was 7 degrees in da Bronx last night [facepalm emoji] [laughing emojis].”
The post appeared to reference 50 Cent’s recent claims that Jim, along with his Let’s Rap About It podcast co-hosts Fabolous, Maino and Dave East, owes as much as $180,000 in unpaid rent to the owner of the building where they record said show.
Capo clearly felt Cam’ron’s post was aimed at him as he jumped into the comments section to clap back.
“U wanna play pull up let th people see how soft u are chump,” he responded, before adding in a series of other comments: “Freakey [Zekey] u soft too. A block no u soft. U whole crew is soft. Do ur shoe punk. U soft.”
That sparked a back-and-forth between the former collaborators, with Cam writing back: “What’s wrong capo? Ya heat off too? I ain’t know. Is hate for you to be 50yrs old with no heat. What’s ya Zelle bro? I got u.”
He also said: “Jomo you 50 and still wanna pull up [laughing emojis] I got the video of you breaking in ya own studio tryna trigga the heat system. And chasing ya landlord around in his car cause he want his rent. YOU ARE 50!! Go ‘pull up’ on that heat bill.”
Cam’ron further taunted Jim Jones by posting an instructional video on a heat-producing burn barrell along with the caption: “I’m just tryna help [shrug emoji] [fire emojis].”
Soon after, 50 Cent waded into the spat to pile misery on Jones, with whom he’s had long-simmering tension over the years.
Alongside a video of the “We Fly High” hitmaker wrapped up in several layers inside what appears to be a building he owns, hilariously edited to include cold wind sound effects, Fif joked: “Damn it man [grinning emoji] it’s cold as a b!tch over there huh? Fvck it you Cooo LOL.”
50 also shared screenshots of affordable portable radiators available to purchase online, further mocking the former Dipset rapper.
Jim Jones responded by taking 50 and Cam’s jabs in stride, flexing his under-construction warehouse space in which he plans to open a “multi-purpose content creation facility for media, fashion, music and broadcasting,” as well as a recording studio, a barbershop and potentially a bodega.
Capo ended the video tour by joking to the camera: “It’s cold in here!” while pretending to rub his hands.
“Thankyou for the free promo [bicep emoji] @theifcfactory will b open to all creatives very soon. We workin while we workin. This is just 1 side of th facility u ain’t seen nothing yet God is good,” he bragged in the caption.
Tension between the trio previously erupted last year when 50 Cent said on Cam’ron’s Talk With Flee show that his decision to perform with Jim Jones at the height of the G-Unit-Dipset beef in the late 2000s was a calculated move.
“I just took the shot ’cause I wasn’t sure [Jim Jones] was going to go for it. I was like, ‘We like Jimmy better than you anyway, Cam!’” Fif recalled in a comical voice, prompting the room to erupt in laughter.
Narrowing his eyes as if gauging somebody’s reaction, he continued: “You gotta watch and see how he responds. And then you see, ‘Aw shit, he really likes that!’ Tell him, ‘We want you at the show, Jim!’ That was one of those things where I just threw it out and see what would happen. And he bit.”
“It was a checkmate moment,” Cam conceded. “I said, ‘This n-gga’s devious.’ But I respected it, I liked that shit [laughs].”
Taking issue with 50 and Cam publicly clowning him, Jones hit back at the duo on Justin Laboy’s Respectfully podcast.
“Them n-ggas be on my dick,” he snapped. “Them n-ggas ain’t got nothing else to think about but Capo. I did a lot for them n-ggas in their life, ya heard? Both of them. Pause, though. Get off my dick!”
Capo also mocked G-Unit’s fashion sense, saying: “Them n-ggas couldn’t even dress, but [50 Cent] had a platform for me to perform on in front of thousands of people in New York. Yeah, I’m taking that.”
