The bitcoin account linked to the ransom note reportedly sent to Savannah Guthrie’s family has seen its first activity.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ that whoever kidnapped her mother Nancy Guthrie, 84, from her home in Arizona also is from the Tucson, Arizona region. Additionally, insiders close to the investigation shared a theory that the ransom notes were written by the kidnapper, and the notes also gave clues surrounding where the aductor lived.

For many days media attention has been given to which media outlets the alleged kidnapper has chosen to send the letters to. The initial letter was sent to two TV stations in Tucson and TMZ, meanwhile, the second letter was sent only to one of the Tucson stations. This break down came after an ex-FBI agent revealed the hidden codeword that Savannah used in her message to the kidnappers.

Law enforcement sources have further explained to TMZ that it’s believed that the person who penned the ransom note were quite familiar with the local stations, leading them to think the Tucson area is where the abductor lives.

It’s been previously reported that the kidnapper had promised to return Nancy to Tucson within 12 hours of getting the $6 million ranson, meaning that they are likely in the Tucson area.

So far there have been two ransom deadlines, and each have passed despite Today host Savannah, 54, trying to connect with the kidnapper as she offered to pay.

Sources have reported to that the photos the FBI released on Tuesday (February 10) of the suspecteds kidnaper had just been obtained by authorities.

Nancy’s disappearance has been investigated in full force since she went missing on Sunday (February 1). Time is of the essence as it is in abduction case, especially since she not only has a pacemaker, but she also needs daily medication.

Those who have any information on Nancy’s abduction is instructed to contact 1-800-CALL-FBI or visit tips.fbi.gov. Right now, there is a $50,000 reward offered “for information leading to the recovery of Nancy Guthrie and/or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance.”

Tuesday marked a potential break in the case after the FBI released surveillance images that were discovered from Nancy’s doorbell camera.

At first, the footage from the camera wasn’t available because she didn’t pay a subscription fee to store images or videos, and on top of that, the camera was disconnected at 1:47 a.m. MST on February 1.

With the photos finally being revealed to the public, the Guthrie family could be closer to finding Nancy, being that an admission they made to the FBI necessitated releasing the photos.
