The debate over the Royal titles of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, has once again intensified as the prominent American journalist, lawyer, and political commentator, Megyn Kelly, made a shocking prediction. Kelly believes the Sussexes’ fate will soon follow the path of their disgraced uncle, Prince Andrew, and the Duke of Sussex may be stripped of all his titles as soon as Prince William becomes King.
In a sharp exchange with the Daily Mail on November 6, Megyn Kelly did not hesitate to express her view: “I believe that when William takes the throne, however many years from now that is, he will strip them of their Royal titles. And it should be done right away.”
⚖️ The Prince Andrew Precedent: A Wake-Up Call
Megyn Kelly’s statement comes in the wake of the British Royal Family’s decisive move to strip Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor of his official titles and roles following numerous scandals. This is seen as a strong precedent, indicating that the King and the heir apparent are willing to take action to protect the monarchy’s dignity.
According to Kelly, the Sussexes’ continuous public criticism of the family and their efforts to monetize their Royal status are an unacceptable insult to the institution.
“They are no longer working Royals, but they continue to use the titles of Duke and Duchess to conduct business and sign multimillion-dollar deals,” Kelly argued. “This sets a bad precedent and is unfair to other members of the Royal Family who quietly dedicate themselves to service.”
👑 William: The Future King’s Firm Stance
Megyn Kelly’s prediction is based on her understanding of Prince William’s character and his priority for the stability and honor of the Crown.
Veteran Royal analysts also concur that Prince William will enforce a “slimmed-down monarchy” policy when he becomes King. Under this policy, only those actively working for the monarchy will retain their titles and privileges.
“William probably won’t act while King Charles III is still on the throne, as that would cause greater conflict,” noted Royal expert Peter Hunt. “But once William becomes King, he will have full authority. And if Harry and Meghan continue on their current path, William stripping them of their titles would be a prudent economic and moral move to end the chaos.”
If Megyn Kelly’s prediction comes true, Harry and Meghan will be referred to as “Mr. and Mrs. Sussex” and lose all official ties to the Palace. This would be a significant blow to the global brand they have painstakingly built.
