According to revelations from the book Original Sin by Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson, Harris privately expressed strong displeasure with Cooper’s line of questioning, reportedly referring to him with an expletive in conversations with colleagues.
During the interview, Cooper pressed Harris on concerns about President Biden’s cognitive abilities, citing feedback from Democratic lawmakers who described the debate as a “disaster” and a “trainwreck.” He questioned whether Biden’s performance indicated a decline and if he should consider stepping aside. Harris defended the President, acknowledging a “slow start” but emphasizing his strong finish and highlighting his accomplishments over the past three and a half years.
Frustrated after the interview, feeling that Cooper’s questioning was disrespectful. She reportedly remarked to colleagues, “This motherf—er doesn’t treat me like the damn vice president of the United States,” expressing her belief that she deserved more respect in her role.
