Meghan Markle Shares New Photo of Daughter Lilibet, Taken by ‘Papa Sussex,’ to Celebrate International Women’s Day

Meghan Markle shared a new photo of herself with her daughter, Princess Lilibet, in celebration of International Women’s Day —  and it was taken by none other than “Papa Sussex” himself (a.k.a. Prince Harry).

Meghan, 44, posted the photo — which features herself and 4-year-old Lilibet snuggling on a beach — on Instagram on Sunday, March 8.

“For the woman she will one day be… Happy International Women’s Day,” she wrote in the post’s caption.

She then added that the photo credit was by “Papa Sussex,” referring to Harry, the Duke of Sussex.

Meghan has made a tradition of posting in honor of International Women’s Day, which celebrates the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women worldwide.

In 2025, she shared a never-before-seen snapshot of Lilibet with Harry, 41, on Instagram within a carousel of photos celebrating the women in her life, as well as the people who help to “uplift” them.

“Happy International Women’s Day!” she wrote in the post’s caption. “Celebrating the strong women around us & the girls with dreams who will become women with vision. Also thanking those who uplift us every day.”

The year prior, Meghan celebrated the day by appearing on a panel at SXSW in Austin, Texas, called “Breaking Barriers, Shaping Narratives: How Women Lead On and Off the Screen” alongside Katie Couric, Brooke Shields and author and sociologist Nancy Wang Yuen.

During the conversation, the Duchess of Sussex recounted the story of how she wrote a letter to Procter & Gamble as a kid and called out a dish soap ad that implied housework was solely for women.

“I don’t think it’s right for kids to grow up thinking these things, that just mom does everything,” the then-11-year-old Meghan said during an interview with Nick News uncovered by Inside Edition.

And her efforts paid off: Procter & Gamble ultimately changed the tagline of the commercial from “Women all over America are fighting greasy pots and pans” to “People all over America …”

During the panel discussion, Meghan also praised her husband for being a true partner and supporter of women.

“I’m fortunate in that, among the privileges I have in my life, I have an incredible partner,” she said.

She added: “My husband is such a hands-on dad and such a supporter of me and my family. That I don’t take for granted. That is a real blessing.”
