Chapter 1: The Outcast in Uniform

Firebase Blackwood, tucked deep within the frozen mountains of Alaska, was no place for the weak. Between the howling gale-force winds and temperatures that never rose above zero, the Bravo-4 platoon was notorious for harboring the roughest soldiers in the service. And Elias Thorne was their favorite “punching bag.”

Elias was a man of scholarly appearance, with gray eyes that always seemed to hold a distant sorrow. He wasn’t hulking, he wasn’t tattooed, and most importantly, he had a habit of reading old, leather-bound books instead of drinking beer or playing cards during downtime.

“Look at this, the ‘Scholar’ is dreaming about gods again!” Fat Sergeant Hogan barked with a laugh, kicking Elias’s food tray onto the grimy floor.

Elias silently reached down to pick up the soiled bread. He didn’t retaliate—not out of fear, but because of a strange, ancient restraint flowing through his veins.

“Thorne, I wonder how a runt like you even made the cut. You look more like a lost child than a Private in the United States Army,” Hogan continued to humiliate him, grinding his boot into Elias’s footwear. The surrounding soldiers erupted in laughter, a dry, harsh sound like gunfire in the cold night.

Chapter 2: Expedition into the Abyss

Bravo-4’s mission was to patrol an abandoned ruin suspected of being a hideout for arctic insurgents. It was an ancient limestone cavern system where even the most modern radar equipment frequently malfunctioned.

“Move it, Thorne! You’re on point. Use that ‘big brain’ of yours to lead the way,” Hogan shoved Elias hard into the yawning mouth of the cave.

Inside, the air was thick with the scent of damp moss and an ancient incense. As they pushed deeper into the heart of the system, flashlights swept across stone walls, revealing bizarre glyphs that belonged to no known modern language.

In the center of a massive stone chamber stood an altar made of black quartz. Upon it lay a colossal book, bound in the hide of an unidentified creature and shackled by chains of pure gold.

“A treasure!” Jones, a greedy grunt, shouted and lunged forward. But the moment his hand touched the chain, a bolt of sapphire electricity surged out, throwing him back meters away, unconscious.

The platoon descended into chaos. Gunfire erupted, but the bullets seemed to be swallowed by the darkness surrounding the book. Massive, ethereal silhouettes with burning eyes began to materialize from the walls. They were the “Guardians of the Ruin.”

Chapter 3: Destiny Written in Blood

Hogan and his most battle-hardened men suddenly found themselves powerless against the invisible force of the Guardians. Amidst the carnage, Elias Thorne stepped forward. He did not tremble. He walked as if he were returning home.

“Thorne! You idiot, get back here!” Hogan screamed, clutching a jagged wound on his shoulder.

Elias ignored him. He placed his slender hand on the cover of the book. The golden chains suddenly softened like wax, sliding harmlessly over his wrists. The book began to flip through its vellum pages on its own, spinning until it stopped at the final leaf, where a single line was written in glowing crimson.

The Guardians froze instantly. They dropped to their knees, bowing their heads to the freezing floor. Hogan and his teammates stared in disbelief at the page Elias was touching.

In the middle of the complex ancient script, a name appeared clearly, shimmering like molten gold: ELIAS ADRIAN THORNE – 7TH HEIR TO THE ELDER DYNASTY.

Elias’s true identity was not that of a lowly Private. He was the last descendant of a divine empire that had ruled the Earth before history was ever recorded—the very beings the US Army had been secretly searching for for decades under the codename “Project Genesis.”

Chapter 4: The Rise of the Sovereign

A golden radiance erupted from Elias’s body, shredding his tattered uniform to reveal ancient sigils glowing upon his skin. His gray eyes now burned like twin stars.

He turned to look at Hogan—the man who, moments ago, had treated him like trash. Elias’s gaze held no hatred, only a terrifying majesty that made Hogan feel as though his very breath were being snuffed out.

“The Prophet wrote of the return. And you have brought me here,” Elias spoke, his voice echoing like thunder from the heavens.

With a mere flick of his wrist, Elias commanded the Guardians to repel the darkness threatening the platoon. The soldiers of Bravo-4, once arrogant and brutal, recoiled in terror. They no longer saw a weak “Scholar.” Before them stood a King, an entity against whom bullets and military discipline were utterly meaningless.

When the Special Forces recovery team arrived to secure the site under high-level orders, the leading General immediately dropped to one knee before Elias, leaving the entire Blackwood base in a state of absolute shock.

“Your Majesty, we have waited far too long for you.”

Chapter 5: A New Order

The story of the bullied grunt who became an “Ancient King” spread through the ranks like a living legend. Elias Thorne remained with the military, but no longer as a Private. He became the Supreme Advisor to the Department of Defense on supernatural affairs.

Hogan and the men who had tormented him were reassigned to the most remote, desolate border posts, where they would spend the rest of their lives repenting for what they had done.

Elias stood atop an Alaskan cliff, looking toward the horizon. He no longer read old books to dream. He was the one writing the new pages of history for the world.
