Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice have reportedly shown solidarity in a seven-word exchange amid an ongoing scandal surrounding their parents. A lip reader decoded words spoken between the pair when Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was ordered to leave his sprawling residence in the Royal Lodge in November.

However, the exchange has come back into the spotlight after Andrew finally left the luxurious residence this morning. The pair were pictured hugging in the street in Mayfair in November 2025, when a lipreader claimed Beatrice told her younger sister: “We’re in this together, don’t forget that.”

A royal expert claimed that Beatrice and Eugenie’s earlier show of solidarity is as strong as ever, and they are turning to each other for support after the latest fallout.

Finding themselves in such a difficult position, Katie Nicholl believes the two may strike out more independently in future.

“I think they’ll always support their parents, but I’m sensing they’re creating some distance from Andrew. Even though he’s their father, the reality is that his reputation has become damaging and toxic,” she told The Mirror.

“These are young women with their own successful careers, and I’m sure they just want to get on with that.”

It comes after several emails emerged in the latest release of the Epstein files, which appeared to show exchanges between Sarah Ferguson and paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

One exchange appeared to reference a lunch between Sarah Ferguson and Epstein in Miami, with “the girls”. Another exchange seemed to reference her daughter’s love life, sparking major backlash and shock among royal commentators.

The addresses have been redacted in several emails, making it impossible to confirm the identities. Involvement in the Epstein files does not indicate any wrongdoing.

The expert also spoke about Beatrice’s wedding to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in July 2020, which foreshadowed a breakdown of the family relationship.

Beatrice has always spoken very fondly of her relationship with her grandmother, the late Queen Elizabeth II, but Ms Nicholl said it was “very telling” that the official wedding photo was not with her parents, Andrew and Sarah, but with the Queen and Prince Philip.

“By then, Andrew’s controversial Newsnight interview had aired and he was neck-deep in scandal, yet the Queen and Philip showed such loyalty to Beatrice,” she added.
