And just like that, 2025 is in the books. In preparation for the new year, the various news outlets will air special programming to mark the transition to 2026.
Here’s your guide to all the New Year’s programming (all times Eastern).

ABC News
Leading up to the new year, Good Morning America co-anchor Robin Roberts hosts the network’s 15th annual year-end special, THE YEAR: 2025. The special is two hours and airs on Monday, Dec. 29, at 8 p.m., on ABC, with streaming the next day on Disney+ and Hulu.
Roberts will be joined by an award-winning team of ABC News anchors, co-hosts, and correspondents, bringing viewers network television’s most comprehensive look at the biggest events, stories, celebrities, pop culture moments, trends, and fads that left an indelible mark in 2025.
On New Year’s Eve, beginning at 8 p.m. and running till 4 a.m., ABC will televise Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2026, kicking off in New York and continuing through Las Vegas, Chicago, Puerto Rico, and beyond.
CNN
Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen team up again for their ninth consecutive year as co-hosts of CNN’s New Year’s Eve Live with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen. Broadcasting live from New York City’s Times Square beginning at 8 p.m.
CNN’s coverage starts at 7:00 a.m. with nearly two dozen CNN anchors and correspondents with live reports and performances from several cities around the world.
At 12:30 a.m., CNN’s Sara Sidner and Cari Champion will take over, counting down to the new year as the Central Time Zone rings in 2026 from Auditorium Shores in Austin.
Fox News
Fox News Media will ring in 2026 with New Year’s Eve specials beginning at 8 p.m. with Who Can Forget 2025? with Brian Kilmeade, Tomi Lahren, Griff Jenkins, and others, looking back at the biggest news and pop-culture stories of 2025.
9 p.m. ET. FNC contributors Tyrus and Kat Timpf host A New Year with Kat & Tyrus, looking back at their favorite stories and videos of 2025.
FNC host Jimmy Failla will present All-American New Year’s Bash at 11 p.m., where he will be joined by Tomi Lahren, Jon Taffer, and comedians Aaron Berg and Charles McBee to recap the wildest news of 2025.
MS NOW
The network will feature the best of its primetime programming beginning at 4 p.m., including The Look: A Conversation with Michelle Obama, We The People: A Conversation with Rachel Maddow and Timothy Snyder, and select episodes of The Best People with Nicolle Wallace.
NBC News
Hoda Kotb returns to NBC to rejoin her former 10 a.m. co-host Jenna Bush Hager as hosts of the two-hour primetime special A Toast to 2025, airing from 10:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
They will look back on the most unforgettable, buzziest, and inspiring moments of 2025, joined by a wide-ranging lineup of actors, athletes, comedians, TV personalities, and NBC News talent.
NewsNation
A special edition of NewsNation Prime covering the day’s latest news headlines and developments will air on Wednesday, Dec. 31, from 6-11 p.m., co-hosted by Brian Entin and Jessica Kartalija.
Beginning at 11 p.m. ET, a one-hour special, Year in Review: The Moments that Mattered, will air, hosted by anchor Elizabeth Vargas.
Spectrum News
Anchors Shannan Ferry and Dean Meminger will be live from Times Square this New Year’s Eve, beginning at 11 p.m. on NY1 and Spectrum News YouTube channels.
They will be joined by special guests from Broadway, as well as Roger Clark speaking with the crowd in Times Square and George Whipple reporting from the festivities at Tavern on the Green.
Telemundo
Telemundo will present Al Rojo Vivo Edición Especial: Adiós 2025 at 7 p.m., hosted by Jessica Carrillo and Lourdes Stephen from New York City, featuring the year’s most relevant news events and the hottest moments in entertainment.
This will be followed by Bienvenido 2026 on Wednesday, Dec. 31, starting at 8 p.m., featuring performances by musical stars, and live broadcasts from several cities, including Times Square in New York with Lourdes Stephen, Danilo Carrera, and Chiky Bombom, as well as from Queens with Jessica Carrillo and Gabriel Coronel.
Andrea Meza, Carlos Adyan, Clovis Nienow, and Anette Cuburu join from Mexico City.
