MY HEART IS BROKEN FOREVER: DEVASTATED MOTHER PAYS EMOTIONAL TRIBUTE AFTER 23-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER WAS ALLEGEDLY SH0T DE-AD AT HOME
A 23-year-old mother has been shot dead by a man known to her in an alleged domestic violence murder on the Gold Coast.
Mallorie Jane was allegedly gunned down in an apartment on Loder Street in Biggera Waters at about 8pm on Sunday.
Ethan Midgley, also 23, was charged with one count each of murder (domestic violence) and unlawful possession of category H weapon used to commit indictable offence (domestic violence).
He was due before the Southport Magistrates Court on Monday morning, but did not appear in person and was remanded in custody. The matter was adjourned to next month.
7NEWS reported on Monday that the alleged murder weapon was a ‘homemade firearm’. Daily Mail has contacted Queensland police for comment.
Ms Jane had a young son named Tyson, aged 2, but the Daily Mail understands he was not at the address when she died.
Just hours after the fatal incident, Ms Jane’s devastated mum, Felicity, posted a gut-wrenching message to her daughter on Facebook.
‘I love you I want to hold you and not let you go my beautiful sweetheart my beautiful daughter,’ she wrote.

One local source said he had spoken to Ms Jane’s father recently to warn him about a series of disturbances at her apartment.
‘Her father told me she just needs to get the “riff-raff” out of her life,’ said one neighbour.
A GoFundMe has been launched by Ms Jane’s friend Haylee Harris to help cover funeral expenses and support her son.
‘Like so many others, I am heartbroken by the devastating loss of such a beautiful young mum,’ wrote Ms Harris.
‘Our hearts are shattered following the tragic loss of our beautiful Mallorie, whose life was taken far too soon in a devastating act of [alleged] domestic violence.
‘Mallorie leaves behind her precious son, Tyson, a loving sister, and a family whose lives have been changed forever. She was deeply loved and will be remembered for her beautiful heart, kind spirit, and the love she had for those around her.’
