US megastar Paris Hilton has opened up about what it was like meeting Meghan Markle during her short-lived Archetypes podcast series. The Duchess of Sussex has so far made two podcast shows — Archetypes, which debuted on Spotify in 2022 and Confessions of a Female Founder, which debuted on Lemonada Media in 2025.
Both podcast series only have one season, as Meghan and Prince Harry’s deal with Spotify abruptly ended in June 2023 after both sides “mutually agreed” to part ways, while Lemonada has not yet announced a new season for Meghan’s second podcast. Archetypes featured a series of celebrities and other famous people from various sectors, with the Duchess speaking to them about stereotypes against women across 12 episodes.
The guest list included Serena Williams, Mariah Carey, Victoria Jackson, Mindy Kaling and Paris Hilton, among others.

Now Ms Hilton has opened up about what it was like being and working with Meghan for her Archetypes episode.
She told Hello! Magazine: “I loved doing that podcast with her, she was a very smart, lovely person, and I really enjoyed it.”
She added: “I think that the media can create a character of you – my whole career, my story was always told by other people who didn’t really know me – and so I can relate to a lot of women who have to endure that type of treatment from the media.”
The podcast featuring Ms Hilton, titled Breaking Down the Bimbo with Paris Hilton, saw the two women talk about the labels of “bimbo” and “d**b blonde” often used to diminish or discredit women.
Meghan recalled her own stint on Deal or No Deal, where she served as one of the briefcase models before finding success as an actress on Suits.
Ms Hilton told Meghan that these two labels became tightly associated with her personality, which did not reflect her true self.
She said: “I almost got stuck and lost in the character and at some point it was like lines got blurred and it was like I forgot who I was. And it makes me sad because I used to be such a free spirit and I was not so closed off, and I feel like with just so many things that have happened to me over the years I just closed off in ways in my mind and I wish that it didn’t happen. Going through trauma and life really really affects you.”
Meghan replied: “For me, when you say it’s sad… I think it’s so sad you don’t even get the opportunity – it makes me emotional even thinking about it – you don’t get the opportunity to start to think about the woman you want to be with a blank slate, so then you come out into the world and they cast you in this thing that you end up feeling trapped in.”
