CAUGHT ON CAMERA: GOLD COAST COUPLE’S ORDINARY DOG WALK TURNS INTO NIGHTMARE AS MASTIFF GIVES CHASE, LEAVING BOTH HOSPITALIZED

A married couple has been rushed to hospital after a dog attack on the Gold Coast.

The two were out on a walk with their own dog in Arundel about 6pm on Thursday when a mastiff started to chase them. Two people have been rushed to hospital after a dog attack on the Gold Coast last night. A mastiff chased the married couple who were out walking their dog around Arundel at about 6pm.

The pair called out for help after the dog latched onto them.

Neighbours raced to the couple’s rescue and managed to chase off the dog.

Paramedics rushed to the scene after the terrifying attack.

The woman in her 40s suffered wounds to her arm and hands, while the man in his 50s had a laceration and puncture wound to his arms.

The council said city officers seized an animal from the scene.

“[An] investigation is now under way,” a spokesperson said.

A council officer returned to the street on Friday and dropped a leaflet in the dog owner’s letterbox.

The injured couple remained in hospital on Friday.
