HEARTBREAKING obituaries have revealed the lives and dreams of six siblings shot dead by their recently unemployed father before he set fire to their family home.
The tributes describe a rising kindergartener obsessed with toy cars, a teen eager to get his driver’s license and three 11-year-olds with passions ranging from fashion to fishing.

The children and their mother, Amanda “Mandy” Karolkiewicz, 39, were found dead inside their Grand Haven Township, Michigan, home on July 24.
Police said Mandy’s husband, Kristopher “Kris” Karolkiewicz, killed his wife and all six children before starting fires throughout the property and shooting himself.
He fired at least eight shots before deliberately starting fires in several parts of the house and turning the gun on himself, police said.
The children were Keegan, 15, Bennet, 12, Smith, 11, Ella, 11, Caroline, 11, and Teddy, 5.

Their obituaries have now shared intimate details about their personalities, achievements and plans for their future.
Theodore “Teddy” Karolkiewicz, the youngest sibling, had been preparing to begin kindergarten at Peach Plains Elementary School.
The five-year-old was described as a “celebrity” among his older brothers’ and sisters’ friends.
He loved Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars, but his favourite activity was reportedly riding motorcycles with his Papi.
Smith Wyatt Karolkiewicz, 11, enjoyed digging in the sand and searching for Michigan’s distinctive Petoskey stones.
A committed vegetarian, Smith would prepare his own meat-free dinners on a separate grill while still joining his family on fishing trips.
He competed on a swim team alongside his sister Caroline and had started learning to waterski and play golf with his Papi.
Ella Joy Karolkiewicz, also 11, was remembered as a fashionista with a sharp artistic eye.

Born in Hangzhou, China, Ella was adopted when she was three years old.
She treasured quiet time with her mother while her siblings roughhoused and was especially excited to shop during a recent trip to China with Mandy and Caroline.
Ella also acted as the group’s navigator as they traveled through the country.
Caroline Grace Karolkiewicz was born in Hangzhou and adopted at the age of two.
Despite having limited use of the right side of her body, the determined 11-year-old played basketball, joined a swim team and went fishing.
She set herself a goal of reading 100 books last summer and successfully completed the challenge.
Caroline had long been curious about China and hoped to reconnect with her former foster mother during the family’s recent visit.
Bennet Chase Karolkiewicz, 12, loved exploring the outdoors and identifying insects and reptiles around the family’s yard.
He finished third in the Stony Lake Fishing Tournament last year and later earned his hunting license.
Bennet shot his first doe while hunting with his grandfather and also shared his mother’s love of music, singing in his school choir.
The oldest sibling, Keegan Michael Karolkiewicz, was preparing to start his first year of high school.
The 15-year-old was remembered as outgoing, funny and gentle, with a gift for making new friends.
Keegan competed in cross-country and constantly pushed himself to beat his previous running times.
He had recently passed driver’s education and was looking forward to obtaining his license next April.
Teachers and friends have since posted photographs and personal memories on tribute walls created for each child.
The gutwrenching tributes were released as further details emerged about the family’s final hours.
Firefighters were first called to the neighborhood between 8.30am and 9 am after residents reported smelling smoke.
Crews searched the area but were unable to locate a fire and left.
They raced back shortly before 11.45 am when another caller reported seeing white smoke pouring from the family’s Riverside Trail home.
Chilling dispatch traffic warned arriving responders that the house was “full of smoke,” with fumes visible through the windows.
Emergency workers entered the property and discovered the eight bodies in different bedrooms and other areas of the home.
Autopsies later determined that every family member had suffered a gunshot wound.
Mandy’s death and those of her children were ruled homicides, while Kristopher’s death was ruled a suicide.
Police believe Kristopher set multiple fires throughout the home after shooting his family.
“The cause and origin of the residential fire remains under investigation by Michigan State Police arson investigators,” the sheriff’s office said.
“However, preliminary indications are that the fire was intentionally set in numerous places throughout the interior of the residence.”
At least three family dogs and one cat also died from injuries linked to the smoke and fire.
Kristopher had lost his job shortly before the massacre.
The American Heart Association said he worked for the organization from September 2023 until his employment ended earlier in July.
He had served as national vice president of sales and marketing for its CPR and first-aid training division.
The killings came only days after Mandy returned from what she described as a dream trip to China with Ella and Caroline.
Her final TikTok post on July 17 showed the family preparing to travel home.
“We are so ready to be home sweet home!” she wrote.
The siblings are survived by their grandparents Becky and Steve Lawwill, Gary Anderson, Bill and Barb Karolkiewicz, and John Barwacz.
A public celebration of life for Mandy and the six children will be held at 11am on Monday, August 24, at Harvest Vertical Church’s Grand Haven campus.
“Mandy and her children had a way of making everyone feel like they belonged,” family spokesperson Emily Jones said.
“And we want this service to reflect that. Whether you knew them for years or only knew them from afar, you’re welcome to join us, in person or online.”
The family has asked mourners not to take photographs, audio recordings or video anywhere on the church grounds, including the parking lot and arrival areas.
A livestream will be made available for people unable to attend and is expected to be posted on the funeral home’s Upcoming Services page before the ceremony.
