American broadcasters were believed to be willing to pay six-figure sums for a blockbuster interview with Fergie
The Royal Family could face the “horror prospect” of a Sarah Ferguson “comeback” after the former Duchess of York’s demise from public life.
Fergie was stripped of her York title alongside her ex-husband, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, as the pair look to live in separate residences when they exit Royal Lodge.
Sarah Ferguson previously described her and Andrew’s relationship as the “happiest divorced couple in the world”; however, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams believes their living arrangements will change that.
Mr Fitzwilliams told GB News: “It will be a very substantial change from the image of this idea that they were the world’s most friendly divorced couple.”

He believes that Fergie will “almost certainly try some sort of comeback, but in what form and how” remains to be questioned.
Mr Fitzwilliams explained to the People’s Channel: “I can’t see it working. Her charities have cast her adrift.
“What we don’t know is what she will do next. And of course, from the point of view of the Royal Family, a horrifying prospect that there could be television.”
Fergie was said to be “carefully considering” offers for a major, tell-all interview in November, potentially revealing what she knows of Andrew’s friendship with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

A royal commentator claimed Fergie will ‘almost certainly try some sort of comeback’.

If a deal was struck, the former Duchess of York could face an interview similar to her ex-husband’s horror interview with Emily Maitlis on BBC Newsnight.
“Andrew has had his chance to tell the story. Now it’s Fergie’s time,” a source told The Sun.
Any interview with Fergie would likely see her answer questions about Andrew’s role in the scandal involving his friendship with Epstein and his relationships with Virginia Giuffre.

The former prince reached an out-of-court settlement in 2022 with Ms Giuffre, which concluded without any admission of guilt.
Andrew has consistently denied all allegations against him and the Metropolitan Police previously considered the sexual assault claims were not sufficient to warrant further investigation.
Palace aids are allegedly said to be “worried” about what the former Duchess of York might say.
One source told The Sun: “There’s a danger of her going rogue and saying things that could cause embarrassment for King Charles and Queen Camilla, or other members of the Royal family. But there’s not much they can do to stop her.”

An insider claimed: “Sarah and her team have had offers from all over the world for a sit-down. So she’s thinking things over very carefully.
“She and her team know a televised interview would be make or break for her in terms of salvaging her reputation.
“It would also give her the chance to spell out the fact she knew nothing about what Epstein and his associates were doing in terms of abusing girls.
“Sarah is actually quite keen to answer questions as she strongly believes she’s done nothing wrong, and been harshly treated.”
GB News approached Sarah Ferguson’s team, but they refused to comment on the matter.
