The Duchess of Sussex is travelling to Australia with Prince Harry later this month
An Australian television presenter has broken his silence on his viral April Fool’s joke about Meghan Markle.
Larry Edmur, the host of The Morning Show on Australia’s Channel Seven, sparked widespread confusion when he joked that the Duchess of Sussex had agreed to an exclusive interview, complete with an extensive list of prohibited topics.
The interview would have taken place during Prince Harry and Meghan’s upcoming tour of Australia.
However, GB News contacted the Duchess of Sussex’s spokesman on April 1 for clarification, who confirmed the post was an April Fool’s joke.

He also noted that the 44-year-old duchess has no plans to appear on the Morning Show.
It is not currently known if Meghan and Harry plan on speaking to the media in a traditional format during their official trip.
Speaking out after his April Fool’s joke, Mr Emdur issued a statement on social media.
On Tuesday, he posted: “This was an April Fools joke, I’m still getting trolled and angry messages from around the world, which of course I couldn’t give a fat flying stuff about.

“I posted it on April 1st then it was sent around the world and landed in various feeds days later so it somehow lost its April Fools sting which I think is bloody hysterical, that constitutes a hugely successful April Fools gag in my book, anyway if you’re angry then just unfollow me ‘coz I don’t do angry.”
Reddit users in the United States shared the post on Monday, genuinely believing the interview had been arranged with strict conditions attached.
Mr Emdur’s original post read: “This is beyond massive ! Ahead of her Australian tour The Duchess of Sussex has agreed to one single interview and IT IS WITH US!!!
“Enormous thanks to Iska.B.Fluchadorè and Petra Shmaykle from C.A.A America who got us over the line.
“Not gonna lie the list of ‘don’t ask’ questions is long but we still can’t wait.
“I’ve deliberately turned off the comments section as I’m not interested in those nasty threads that can sometimes follow Meghan.
“See you after 9 on our biggest @morningshowon7 ever @kyliegillies.”
GB News contacted Channel 7 and Mr Emdur for comment.
