Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor could ditch a home in Norfolk for one in the Middle East instead, a royal author has claimed. The disgraced brother of King Charles has agreed to move out of his home, Royal Lodge in Windsor, following public furore sparked by the latest details regarding his association with convicted paedophile, Jeffrey Epstein.

Andrew has also lost his titles and honours after the King took the dramatic decision to remove him from royal life last year. The former prince was expected to move into one of the King’s private homes within the Sandringham Estate.

But now an author has claimed that Andrew could choose to spend his exile somewhere further away.

Royal biographer Robert Jobson said a lot can be taken from the King’s meeting with the King of Bahrain last November, just days after Buckingham Palace’s bombshell announcement about the removal of Andrew’s titles on October 30.

Charles met with Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa at the latter’s private estate in the Cotwolds on November 11, with palace courtiers giving no insight as to what the two men talked about.

But Mr Jobson insisted that the “Andrew problem” could have neen in the agenda.

He told People magazine: “The King saw the King of Bahrain the other day. One never knows — it could be a place where Andrew gets the recognition of being the second son of Queen Elizabeth, rather than this.”

Mr Jobson said Andrew wouldn’t be the first to find refuge in the Middle East, citing Spain’s Juan Carlos I, who went to Abu Dhabi in 2020 after his abdication in 2014.

He said: “Other disgraced people have gone to the Middle East. Andrew did a lot of business in Bahrain, and he’s still relatively young.”

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been contacted for comment.
