Netflix Quietly Unleashes a Dark New Thriller — Michelle Keegan and Tom Bateman Lead a Mystery Packed With Secrets and Jaw-Dropping Twists
Michelle Keegan has been spotted filming her new Netflix show with The Inbetweeners star James Buckley.
The former Coronation Street actress, 39, will be seen alongside James, who shot to fame when he played Jay Cartwright in the E4 comedy series, in the streaming service’s adaptation of Harlan Coben’s The Woods.
Michelle previously starred in Fool Me Once for Netflix, which was based on Coben’s 2016 thriller, but this time round, she will play Lucy Silverfield, who helps her former partner, played by Tom Bateman. In the upcoming drama, Michelle’s character will help him uncover secrets as he investigates a disappearance at a summer camp some two decades earlier.
Meanwhile, James will play the role of teaching assistant Lonnie Burger and, along with Tom, the trio looked to be in good spirits as filming got underway in Knutsford, Cheshire on Tuesday afternoon.

At one point, Michelle joined co-star Tom, who is known for having starred alongside Kaley Cuoco in Based on a True Story, and they smiled together as they wandered the street.
Since finding fame as Tina McIntyre on Coronation Street almost 20 years ago, Michelle has become one of the most famous actresses in Britain, starring in top-rated programmes like Brassic and Ten Pound Poms.
Her latest drama will also see her teaming up with comedian Tom Allen, as well as Mandeep Dhillon and Pearce Quigley.

When the latest adaptation of The Woods was first announced, Coben said in a statement: “The Woods is a haunting and very personal story. It has everything you expect from us – twisty, turning, gasp-inducing – but at the core is a story of old love and yearning.
“Working with a cast led by Tom Bateman, Michelle Keegan, Mandeep Dhillon, Pearce Quigley, James Buckley, Tom Allen – it’s an embarrassment of riches.”
Penned by Danny Brocklehurst, the upcoming eight-part thriller begins with a mysterious disappearance 20 years ago that leaves a family devastated.
When new evidence comes to light that convinces barrister Paul ‘Cope’ Copeland (played by Bateman) his missing sister could be alive after all, he begins a relentless investigation to unearth the truth.

An official synopsis teases: “Twenty years ago, Paul ‘Cope’ Copeland’s sister Camille vanished from a summer camp in the woods, a loss that tore his family apart.
“Now a top barrister and devoted single father to ten-year-old daughter Cami, Cope appears to have rebuilt his life. But when the body of a man turns up – twenty years after he was supposedly murdered alongside Camille – Cope becomes convinced his sister may have made it out of the woods alive too.
“Determined to uncover the truth, Cope reunites with his first love, Lucy Silverfield (Keegan), and together they begin a search for answers, unearthing years of lies, cover-ups, and family secrets that threaten to destroy everything he has built.”
