The shattered fiancée of under-fire Sydney Swans player Isaac Heeney appears to be reconsidering their engagement after the Daily Mail pictured her in tears and without her ring in Noosa on Friday.
Steffie Waters fled to her sister’s secluded mountain property on the outskirts of the Queensland tourist town while Heeney remains at the centre of a gathering storm, with some footy insiders saying he may have played his last professional game.
Heeney and four other Swans, Chad Warner, Riley Bice, Nick Blakey and James Jordon, have been stood down for the remainder of the 2026 AFL season after the club found the players had breached its standards by staying out late, drinking and bringing women back to the Pullman East Melbourne hotel early Monday morning.
The sanctions are separate from Victoria Police’s investigation into an alleged sexual assault at the hotel. No charges have been laid, and all players have denied wrongdoing.
Waters, who is the most prominent and glamorous of the Swans WAGs, was seen looking visibly distressed as she made an emotional phone call on Friday afternoon.
She later broke down in tears before retreating to a remote beach in a string bikini.

Tellingly, she was not wearing her diamond engagement ring, which is likely to raise questions about the couple’s future as Heeney fights for his career and relationship.
Waters has kept a low profile since the Pullman Hotel incident erupted in the early hours of Monday morning, retreating from the public eye as her fiancé faces intense scrutiny over his alleged involvement.
Her sighting comes as the Swans face the biggest scandal in the club’s history after two strippers alleged they were sexually assaulted during a wild private party.
Detectives from Victoria Police’s sex crimes squad were due to travel to Sydney to interview the players involved after a formal complaint was made on Tuesday.
It is understood detectives are focusing on the alleged actions of Heeney, who spoke voluntarily with police on Monday before returning to Sydney in a rental car with his teammates to avoid being photographed at the airport.
Heeney proposed to influencer Waters during a getaway to French Polynesia in October, just months after they went viral for sharing an Instagram post wearing matching Christmas jumpers joking that he would ‘stuff’ her ‘stocking’.
The genetically blessed pair have become the poster couple of the Swans, often stepping out together at glamorous events.
Waters has largely withdrawn from public view over the last week. She wasn’t seen at the couple’s $2million apartment in Sydney’s eastern suburbs at any point since Tuesday.

Earlier this year, Heeney, an avid self-promoter, uploaded a YouTube video to his channel showing the renovation of ‘Heeney HQ’, as he called it.
In the footage, the loved-up pair could be seen walking through the building site in Maroubra, while discussing whether to turn one room into a cinema or a gym.
However, the social media accounts that were set up to promote their building project have since been deleted, in another telling sign the hotel allegations may have been the last straw for Waters.
It comes after Swans captain Callum Mills spoke publicly for the first time about the scandal.
Speaking alongside coach Dean Cox and flanked by his Swans teammates, Mills on Friday apologised to the club’s AFLW players and female staff, and then to women in the wider community.
‘We take these allegations extremely seriously, and we hope the women involved are getting all the support they deserve,’ Mills said.
‘We really are disappointed at the actions of these five players, and as a playing group we fully support the club’s decisions on the sanctions handed down.
‘We take full responsibility, and we are deeply sorry.’
Cox added: ‘We are extremely disappointed at the actions of the players, and the sanctions imposed by the board show how seriously we take these matters.
‘To those women involved, I hope everyone is getting the support they need.’

Cox admitted the Swans’ culture was not ‘perfect’ and said he hoped the club could regain the trust of the community.
‘One thing that we do know is our culture has taken a hit. The thing you need to understand about a culture is how you respond and the actions you take following,’ he said.
Cox and Mills urged Swans fans to show their support for the women’s and men’s teams at this Sunday’s double-header at the SCG, amid boycott calls.
The Swans have also hit back at widespread allegations that club staff were in the room with the five players at the time, adding that legal avenues are now being explored.
‘The Sydney Swans can confirm that all investigations carried out by the club have consistently indicated that the only representatives of the club in the room central to the police investigation were the five players who have been stood down,’ the statement read.
‘We have every reason to consider that reports to the contrary are simply false.

‘We are respecting the process with the relevant authorities and will refrain from commenting on police matters.

On Wednesday, the suspended five players issued a statement, which read: ‘We are deeply sorry to everyone involved. We know that our behaviour has fallen well short of the standards expected of us and the values of our club.
‘We know we have let down our partners and families, members, supporters, teammates, the AFLW team, corporate partners and everyone at the club and the wider community.
‘We accept the club sanction and apologise for the impact this has had on those involved.
‘Our focus will now be on rebuilding trust with the club and the community.’
