Virgin River star breaks silence on Brady’s tragic season 7 cliffhanger

Virgin River star Ben Hollingsworth has spoken out about Dan Brady’s devastating motorcycle accident that brought the latest instalment of Netflix’s popular romance drama to a close.

The actor has confirmed that he’s aware of Brady’s fate, but he’s remaining tight-lipped for the time being.

Netflix’s latest chapter of the enduring hit series followed Mel Monroe (played by Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack Sheridan ( Martin Henderson ) weighing up the next stage of their relationship following their wedding.

Mel’s patient Marley (Rachel Drance) presents them with a once-in-a-lifetime chance to adopt her baby, but the newborn’s life also hangs in the balance when he arrives with a severe heart condition.

As the infant is rushed to Los Angeles for specialist treatment, Brady endures a catastrophic incident of his own when he crashes his motorbike on a stretch of road, reports the Express.

The collision happens shortly after he finally reunites with on-off love interest Brie (Zibby Allen) in a passionate encounter on top of the very same vehicle that could have resulted in life-altering injuries or potentially even worse.

“I couldn’t believe it. At first, I was like, ‘Is Brady done on the show?’” Hollingsworth has since revealed to Entertainment Weekly.

“The moment you read it, it does send a little chill down your back and make you think, is this the end?”

Brady’s crash may have ended his protracted ‘will they, won’t they’ romance with Brie in a single moment. At the very least, fans will probably see a lengthy and agonising recovery from severe injuries in the upcoming season.

At worst, Virgin River may be bidding farewell to one of the programme’s most cherished characters after delighting Netflix audiences for seven years.

“It’s tragic, and Brady is such a tragic figure,” Hollingsworth continued.

“The guy should never get involved with gambling, because he would never win anything, ever. He’s got the worst luck in the world.”

Whilst the indicators aren’t presently looking favourable for Brady emerging unscathed, the star did remind audiences that this isn’t his first brush with death.

Having survived a stabbing in series four and escaping a blaze unharmed just days before the collision, Hollingsworth is staying optimistic that he’ll survive.

“He’s a durable dude. He’s durable!” he added. “So I’m going to hold out hope that he stays durable.

“I think Brie has a thing for guys in a hospital gown, because there was her next to Brady when he got stabbed, then her next to Mike when he got shot, maybe this is all just one giant scheme to seal the deal.

“If we see Brady wearing a hospital gown in season 8, it’s a good sign.”
