A lip reader revealed the sweet question Princess Charlotte posed to her mother Catherine during last year’s Trooping the Colour carriage procession.

The appearance of Catherine alongside Charlotte, Prince George, and Prince Louis sparked enthusiastic cheers as they left Buckingham Palace in a carriage for the King’s official birthday parade.

The children and their mother waved to spectators from their carriage as they followed the King and Queen along the Mall towards Horse Guards Parade, with Louis displaying his gappy grin.

At one moment, Charlotte was observed turning towards her mum, participating in cheerful banter as they travelled along the route.

Professional lip reader Jeremy Freeman revealed that she asked: “Who is it?” referring to someone in the crowd, to which Kate replied.

Charlotte then appeared to say: “Oh brilliant” before the pair shared a chuckle.

This delightful moment occurred shortly before the King and Queen led the Royal Family onto the balcony at Buckingham Palace to watch a flypast by military aircraft.

They were accompanied by the Prince and Princess of Wales and their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, alongside the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.

Members of the Royal family were seen chatting as aircraft flew overhead above the palace. Spectators assembled in The Mall burst into applause as the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team – commonly known as the Red Arrows – soared above, trailing vivid streams of red, white and blue smoke.

The squadron employed a combination of sustainable aviation fuel and conventional jet fuel for their engines, alongside a renewable biofuel to produce the smoke trails. The Royal Family delivered one last wave to the assembled crowds before withdrawing into the Palace.

In other news, Catherine reinstated a major Trooping the Colour responsibility alongside the King and Queen.

As Colonel of the Irish Guards, she assumed her position on the dais beside the King and Queen to witness the spectacular military parade at Horse Guards Parade.

In 2024, she viewed the display from the Major General’s office with her children, signalling her return to duty following the start of her cancer treatment.

Last year Catherine travelled to Horse Guards Parade in an Ascot Landau carriage, joined by her three children.

She appeared radiant in a turquoise Catherine Walker coat dress, a hat by Juliette Botterill, her Irish Guards Regimental brooch and a pair of earrings that previously belonged to the late Queen, before assuming her seat on the parade ground.

At the previous year’s Trooping the Colour, Kate staged a triumphant return, representing her first official public appearance since revealing her cancer diagnosis. She occupied a prominent spot on the Buckingham Palace balcony during the RAF flypast, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the King.

This took place two months before her announcement that she had successfully completed her chemotherapy treatment. In January of this year, she shared the heartening news that she is now in remission.
