Prince Harry and Meghan Markle face accusations of hypocrisy as critics blast them for posting “commercialised” pictures of son Prince Archie and daughter Princess Lilibet, while keeping their children’s faces hidden on social media in the name of “privacy”.
Numerous people have brandedĀ Prince HarryĀ a hypocrite, amongst other charges, for permitting his wife to share images of their children online, contradicting his previous statements about craving privacy.
The Duke of Sussex’s appearance at the High Court in London last month, where he became visibly emotional whilst discussing how media intrusion has negatively affected both him and his wife, has only intensified criticism against him.
Jetting off to the Sundance Film Festival mere days after his return from the UK drew condemnation; and permitting images of his children to appear on social media (albeit with their faces concealed) represents another controversy.
“For Harry to go from the hearing ā and pleading for privacy ā to then go to Sundance just days after is nuts,” an insider told Page Six.
Royal expert and The Royalist writer Tom Sykes, who was at the court when Prince Harry testified, reportedly told NewsNation: “In his witness statement, and under questioning from his barrister David Sherborne, Harry described giving evidence as ‘a repeat of the past, a recurring and traumatic experience.’”
“He told the court: ‘I have never believed my life is open season to be commercialised by these people. My life has been commercialised in this way since I was a teenager.’”

Expert criticises Netflix and Instagram images
Sykes proceeded to discuss various images the former Suits actress has posted of their children on herĀ InstagramĀ account in recent years, including behind-the-scenes shots from herĀ NetflixĀ With Love, Meghan show, snaps from Lilibet’s fourth birthday at Disneyland, and more.
“These images, even when faces are partially obscured or showed in three-fourths profile, are part of the construction of a broader commercial brand and that Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4, cannot meaningfully consent to such exposure,” he went on.
Prince Harry may not post the images himself, but allowing for them to be posted on the As Ever founder’s account is the same thing, according to critics. “It’s a completely hypocritical statement as he and Meghan are commercialising Lili and Archie!” Sykes added.
