Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor agreed to give up his lease to Royal Lodge after years of pressure from the King and Royal Household. He will reportedly move into an empty ramshackle farm needing a huge refurbishment. The sprawling but dilapidated Marsh Farm is located around seven miles west of the King’s Sandringham estate. A no-fly zone over the Sandringham estate has recently been extended to include the area above the former farm.
The once-working property comprises a main house with two reception rooms and a kitchen, along with several outbuildings, and needs extensive renovation. Buckingham Palace has declined to comment on Andrew’s prospective new home, which is expected to be privately funded by the King, citing data protection regulations.

The palace said they will not be providing the name of his new home because the King’s brother is a “private citizen” and Sandringham is a “private estate”.
A palace souce added: “There are GDPR and rights of privacy involved so we will not be providing the name of the property.
“There are also security issues that are of relevance.”
Andrew was later removed from royal duties and no longer uses his Duke or Prince titles, and his knighthood in the Order of the Garter was also revoked. The moves followed reporting by The Sun on Sunday, which claimed he had continued corresponding with Jeffrey Epstein months after previously stating that all contact had ended.

In recent weeks, the Royal Family and the Crown Estate have faced criticism over favourable rental arrangements. Andrew is reported not to have paid rent for two decades, while Edward and Sophie are understood to occupy the 120-room Bagshot Park estate in Surrey under a nominal “peppercorn rent” agreement.
After years of pressure from the King and the Royal Household, Andrew has agreed to relinquish his lease on Royal Lodge, despite previously being described as having a legally robust tenancy.
Marsh Farm is a vacant sprawling estate near a church and former railway station at Wolferton. Gardens overlook Dersingham Bog, where royal shoots take place, and views can stretch as far as the sea at The Wash.
An insider told The Sun: “Andrew has been told he is off to Marsh Farm. It needs an awful lot of work to be done before it’s habitable.
“It means we could be waiting a long time before he ever leaves Royal Lodge.”
