Netflix Unveils Explosive New 8-Part Drama Set in NYC’s Dark Nightlife, Starring Jude Law and Jason Bateman
Netflix has just dropped an electrifying first glimpse of its highly anticipated limited series, Black Rabbit, an 8-part thriller set against the high-stakes backdrop of New York City’s underground nightclub scene. Leading the cast are powerhouse actors Jude Law and Jason Bateman, who play estranged brothers whose complicated relationship threatens to unravel everything around them.
A Story of Brotherhood and Betrayal
At the heart of Black Rabbit is the turbulent bond between Jake Friedken (Jude Law), the charismatic owner of a soon-to-be hottest VIP lounge in New York, and his unpredictable brother Vince Friedken (Jason Bateman), whose unexpected return ignites a chain reaction of secrets, danger, and past traumas.

Described as a “propulsive thrill ride” and a deep character study, the series explores how family loyalty and ambition collide in a world where power and survival go hand in hand. As Jake tries to maintain his grip on success and control, Vince’s return threatens to shatter not only the business but the fragile foundation of their relationship.
Star-Studded Cast and Creative Team
Alongside Law and Bateman, the series features a strong supporting cast including Cleopatra Coleman as the stylish interior designer Estelle, Amaka Okafor as ambitious chef Roxie, and Dagmara Dominczyk as Jake’s ex-wife and philanthropist Val. The ensemble adds rich layers to a story that pulses with tension, glamour, and grit.
Both Law and Bateman serve as executive producers, with Bateman also directing the first two episodes. The show is co-created by Zach Baylin and Kate Susman, who drew inspiration from their own years living in New York to craft a vivid and authentic portrayal of the city’s underground nightlife.

Why You Can’t Miss It
Fans of intense dramas like Ozark and Succession will find a lot to love in Black Rabbit. The series promises a thrilling blend of suspense, emotional depth, and sharp storytelling — all set within a world where the stakes couldn’t be higher.
The combination of star power, a gritty urban setting, and a compelling family drama makes Black Rabbit one of Netflix’s most anticipated releases of the year.
