It comes after a period drama dubbed ‘the BBC‘s best kept secret’ has left fans raving after it was uploaded to Prime Video.

Viewers have been left asking why they had ‘not heard of the’ gripping series, which first aired in 2009 and stars the likes of Andrew Buchan and Lyndsey Marshall.

Garrow’s Law is inspired by the life of barrister William Garrow and investigates real crimes from treason to rape, using published accounts from historic Old Bailey trials.

The real-life 18th century British barrister was part of the establishment of the ‘innocent until proven guilty’ concept and pioneered cross-examination in court.

Broadchurch star Andrew, 49, told the BBC at the time of the series’ release: ‘People were being sent to prison, even hanged, on no evidence.

‘Garrow stepped in and started rattling a few cages by posing insightful questions. He’s very aggressive; the whole thing is based on attack.’

Obituary is available to stream now on Netflix.
