Just one month after the shocking death of DJ Warras, his mother — Beverly Stock — has spoken publicly for the first time, revealing painful suspicions surrounding her son’s killing.
Warrick Stock, known to the public as DJ Warras, was shot dead on December 16, 2025, in Johannesburg’s Central Business District. While police have arrested a suspect linked to the case, Victor Majola, the family believes the truth behind the killing is far more complex than what has been officially disclosed.

In an exclusive interview with veteran SABC News journalist Chriselda Zozi Lewis, Beverly Stock shared a chilling belief:
she suspects her son was “lured out” and betrayed, possibly by someone very close to him.
“It’s not going to bring Warrick back,” she said.
“But somehow, I do believe that he was betrayed. As far as I can see, this goes much deeper. And even if I were to find out that he was betrayed by someone close — close to him, or even close to both of us — it wouldn’t change the way he met his fate.”
Her calm but heavy words sent shockwaves across South Africa.
Mixed Public Reaction
Shortly after the interview aired on January 19, 2026, on SABC News (DStv Channel 404), social media was flooded with reactions.
Many praised Beverly Stock for her courage in voicing such sensitive suspicions. Others agreed that DJ Warras’ death may not be solely linked to his work or the location where the shooting occurred.
At the same time, some questioned the lack of clarity, especially as CCTV footage from the scene had begun circulating.
CCTV Footage Reveals Troubling New Details
The interview came just days after CCTV footage capturing moments before and after the shooting was leaked to the public.
According to reports, the footage shows the alleged shooter and an accomplice monitoring, approaching, and fleeing the scene in a calculated manner. Most notably, as the suspect fled, he appeared to pick up an item believed to belong to DJ Warras — a detail that has intensified suspicions that the attack was not random.
The Truth Remains Unresolved
As legal proceedings involving Victor Majola continue, the grieving mother’s words have opened a more personal, painful — and unsettling — perspective on the case.
If DJ Warras was indeed led to his death through betrayal from within his circle, the biggest questions remain unanswered:
👉 Who persuaded him to leave safety that night?
👉 And what truly happened in the moments before the gunshots rang out?
For now, the story of DJ Warras is far from over.
