Sean “Diddy” Combs and 50 Cent came up in the rap industry around the same time — and have been feuding for almost as long.
While Diddy and 50 Cent have been at odds since the early 2000s, their feud made headlines again nearly two decades later. In March 2024, Homeland Security raided two of Diddy’s residences in Los Angeles and Miami in connection to a federal sex trafficking investigation. Diddy was convicted of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, but acquitted of the more serious charges of racketeering and sex trafficking. Diddy has vehemently denied any wrongdoing.
In the wake of Diddy’s 50-month prison sentence in October 2025, 50 Cent confirmed that he would release a Netflix documentary about the scandal called Sean Combs: The Reckoning.
“This is gonna break records when this drop. GLGGreenLightGang you know the vibes,” 50 Cent wrote via X when he initially announced the documentary.

Timeline of Key Moments in the Feud:
May 2002: 50 Cent first referenced Diddy on the track “U Not Like Me” from Get Rich or Die Tryin’.
November 2002: The two collaborated on a remix of the late Notorious B.I.G.’s song “N*****,” with 50 Cent teasing Diddy in the intro.
August 2003: Diddy presented 50 Cent with the Best Rap Video award for “In Da Club” at the MTV Video Music Awards.
August 2005: Trouble arose over Bad Boy artist Mase’s contract, with 50 Cent alleging Diddy was the main roadblock in negotiations.
September 2006: 50 Cent released “The Bomb,” seemingly implicating Diddy in knowledge about The Notorious B.I.G.’s 1997 murder; Diddy has denied any involvement.
September 2007: Despite past disses, 50 Cent collaborated with Diddy on a remix of “I Get Money,” later alleging he and Jay-Z ghostwrote Diddy’s verse.
June–July 2010: 50 Cent publicly criticized Diddy’s musical credibility, claiming he preferred writing checks over creating music and accusing him of exploiting Biggie’s legacy.
January 2011: Diddy dismissed 50 Cent’s criticism, asserting his impact on a generation of artists and entrepreneurs.
August 2012: Both paused public clashes after the death of music manager Chris Lighty.
April 2014: 50 Cent resumed the feud, insulting Diddy’s single “Big Homie.”
2014: The feud intensified over competing vodka brands — Diddy’s Ciroc and 50 Cent’s Effen Vodka.
February 2016: 50 Cent reignited East Coast/West Coast rap war speculation, suggesting Diddy may have had knowledge about Tupac’s murder; Diddy denied all claims.

November 2018: 50 Cent publicly expressed condolences over Diddy’s former girlfriend Kim Porter’s death.
September 2022: 50 Cent confronted Daphne Joy over attending Diddy’s concert, sparking social media tension.
November–December 2023: Diddy’s ex Cassie filed a lawsuit alleging sexual assault and abuse; Diddy denied allegations, and 50 Cent announced plans for a Netflix documentary covering the controversy.
March 2024: Homeland Security raided Diddy’s properties in connection to federal sex trafficking investigation; 50 Cent revealed plans to produce a documentary.
September 2024: Diddy arrested in New York on racketeering and sex trafficking charges; denied all accusations.
May 2025: Diddy’s federal trial began; 50 Cent used social media to comment on developments.
July 2025: Diddy was found guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution and sentenced to 50 months in prison; 50 Cent mocked the verdict on social media.
October–November 2025: Discussions about a possible presidential pardon arose; 50 Cent publicly opposed it. The Netflix documentary Sean Combs: The Reckoning was scheduled for release on December 2, 2025, executive produced by 50 Cent and directed by Alexandria Stapleton.
The documentary will explore Diddy’s career controversies, alleged criminal history, and the impact of his actions on the broader culture, providing a comprehensive look at decades of public and private conflicts.
