A mother of two has been stabbed to death in her Melbourne home, with her husband now under police guard in hospital.
Lavanya Achanta, 39, was found dead in her Vermont home, in the cityās east, about 10pm on Tuesday.
Her husband Srinivas Achanta, 39, was treated by paramedics and then arrested.
He was taken to hospital under police guard to be questioned by detectives.
No charges have been laid.

Neighbours said the couple were quiet people who largely kept to themselves.
They moved to the street with their two children about two years ago.
āVery sad, very sad set of circumstances. Hard to believe itās happened not too far from our house,ā neighbour Jenny told 9News.
āNothing like this ever happens here so yeah, itās very unfortunate.ā

On Wednesday, forensic officers could be seen entering the home on Delatite Court.
Officers are focused on a stand-alone house on the cul-de-sac street.
Police tape was draped from the front fence across the footpath, as forensics in overalls and homicide detectives in suits went in and out.
