Prime Video has released its new two-part true crime documentary about a South Yorkshire murder investigation.
Chasing A Killer: Gary Allen – Killer’s chilling confession
An unmissable true crime documentary has dropped today but viewers are being cautioned ahead of the harrowing watch.
Streaming platform Prime Video has today (February 22) launched its brand new true crime documentary immersing viewers in a chilling investigation in South Yorkshire and the suspect “known for decades as the man who got away with murder”.
Entitled Chasing a Killer: Gary Allen, there will be two episodes, each 45 minutes in length, exploring a “history making” murder trial – and it is available to stream online now, reports the Mirror.
It chronicles the real life investigation into Gary Allen when he was cleared of murdering Samantha Class in 2000, but detectives recognised it was “only a matter on time before he strikes again”.

In 2018, the death of 38 year old mum Alena Grlakova led detectives to once again consider Gary Allen as they “unearth chilling evidence which changes the course of the investigation”.
However, a warning has been issued ahead of the two part documentary with Prime Video stating: “This content contains strong language throughout and includes themes of murder and violence, as well as distressing scenes that some viewers may find upsetting.”
The Prime Video synopsis reads: “Featuring firsthand accounts from detectives, journalists, and survivors, this two-part documentary highlights the tireless efforts of South Yorkshire and Humberside Police to bring down Gary Allen, a man who believed he was above the law.
“Known for decades as the man who got away with murder, will he finally be brought to justice?”
Prior to the new release, South Yorkshire Police also turned to social media to publicise news of the “Rotherham man who thought he’d got away with murder”.

They stated: “A brand new documentary telling the story of how detectives finally caught a dangerous man who thought he’d got away with murder is coming to Prime Video in the UK and Ireland this weekend.”
They went on to say: “The two episodes of the documentary, which will be available to stream on Prime Video in the UK and Ireland from Sunday (22 February), chart how SYP’s officers teamed up with Humberside Police for a history-making double jeopardy, double murder trial in a bid to see justice finally served for both women and their families.”
Numerous people turned to social media to express their intention to watch the new documentary this weekend, with one person writing: “Oooh definitely. Sounds good that.”
Another commented: “That be worth a watch.” A third added: “Will have to look out for this.”
