The Madison, A New Series From Landman And Yellowstone Creator Taylor Sheridan, Premieres On March 14
The Madison, a new series starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell, is set to debut in just a little over a month.
Fans initially learned about The Madison in 2024, when Pfeiffer became the first star to officially commit the the project. Russell soon followed, along with other major players, including Matthew Fox and Patrick J. Adams.
The Madison will follow the Clyburn family, led by matriarch Stacy (played by Pfeiffer). Variety details how the show “[is a] heartfelt study of grief and human connection following a New York City family in the Madison River valley of central Montana.”
The series is one of the latest from Taylor Sheridan, the creator behind popular programs such as Yellowstone, Landman, Lioness, Tulsa King, and Mayor of Kingstown.
Although we’ve known about The Madison for nearly two years, we heard little about it until this month (January). That’s when we got a sneak peek at the series in a preview of programs coming to Paramount+ in 2026.
Shortly after that, The Madison released its first teaser trailer and revealed its premiere date. Season 1 will start streaming on Paramount+ on March 14.

The Madison Star Kurt Russell Shares Previously Unknown Details About The Show
Kurt Russell, who stars in The Madison, recently shared some brand-new information about the series in a treasure trove of an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
For starters, Russell confirmed that they have already filmed a second season. They did this to accommodate his schedule; otherwise, he wasn’t sure if he would have been able to accept the role.
“I did the second season of Monarch [Legacy of Monsters], the Apple TV show, and unfortunately for me, the timing was when Madison came around,” Russell said. “And I said, ‘There’s just no way to do it,’ because I was working on this show.”
He continued, “Michelle Pfeiffer and Taylor [Sheridan] were able to get together with the people at Paramount+ and said, ‘Well, let’s do two seasons instead of just one. And then before we start the second season next year, instead of doing that, we will start with Kurt’s stuff. We really do want him to play the guy. And we’ll get his first season out of the way first, and jam all that in there, and then go into the second season and do that.’ And so we were able to do that.”

In other words, The Madison waited to film Russell’s Season 1 scenes so they could film his Season 2 scenes at the same time, ensuring his presence across both installments.
Russell divulged that each season of The Madison consists of six episodes. Calling it “a smart show,” Russell shared how it differs from Sheridan’s other projects.
“I think that it’s a very different show for Taylor in that it’s a very female-gaze-oriented show. And I think it’s extremely well written, it was fun to play. It was really fun to do. I just had a good time.”
He praised his co-stars, especially Pfeiffer, saying he believes awards shows are “going to be looking [her] way” when the time comes.
We’re excited to learn more about The Madison in the lead-up to the show’s premiere on March 14!
