Queen Camilla packed some poignant jewelry for her state visit to the United States with King Charles.

King Charles, 77, and Queen Camilla, 78, are currently undertaking a four-day state visit to the U.S., the first of his reign, to commemorate America’s 250th anniversary of independence, and the Queen sported pieces that sparkled with significance during the first two days of their stay.

The royals landed near Washington, D.C., on April 27, and Queen Camilla stepped off the plane wearing Queen Elizabeth’s Union Jack and Stars and Stripes Brooch.

Set in gems, the shimmering piece features the flags of the U.K. and the U.S. crossed together, representing the special relationship the nations share.

The Cartier pin was given to the late Queen Elizabeth by the mayor of New York during her first state visit to the U.S. as sovereign in 1957, but it has been rarely seen since.

Making the most of the time to accessorize, Queen Camilla even kept it on across an outfit change later in the day.

The King and Queen were welcomed at the White House on Monday by President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump, where the Queen appeared in a white Anna Valentine ensemble after arriving stateside in a pale pink Dior dress.

She had the Union Jack and Stars and Stripes Brooch for the meeting with the Trumps and the garden party at the British Ambassador’s residence that followed, maxing out the patriotic pin.

The Union Jack and Stars and Stripes Brooch was a direct tribute to the bilateral relationship that unites the U.K. and U.S., one of Britain’s former colonies.

On April 28, the King’s wife broke another meaningful jewel for a ceremonial welcome on the South Lawn of the White House. The military ceremony is the highest diplomatic honor extended by the U.S. to a visiting head of state.

Queen Camilla glittered in the Cullinan V Brooch, which stars the heart-shaped 18.8-carat Cullinan Diamond, according to fan blog The Court Jeweller.

The British royal family has nine Cullinan diamonds in its collection, and Queen Camilla wore three of them, including the Cullinan V, in Queen Mary’s Crown on the King’s May 2023 coronation day.

Queen Camilla’s coronation crown choice avoided the controversial Koh-i-Nûr diamond, which was featured in the Queen Mother’s coronation crown, which King Charles’ grandmother wore to the coronations of her husband King George VI and daughter, Queen Elizabeth.
